Hey all,

I'm really enjoying this game, and I can get to Stage 9 on one credit. However, I am having trouble with the final boss on stage 10.

Anyone have any experience or tips? Especially if you die on him?

CrackTiger

I haven't played through the game since the 90's, but there is a longplay video on youtube:
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Concentrate on one side with bombs and destroy the big boy of this side, then with the 4 way shot the remaining big boy is easy to beat shooting him laterally.

Only use the blue weapon. No other weapon in game matters. I used a bomb to quickly take out one side, and then another to take out the other side.

Once that's done, it is a matter of slow but steady chipping away of the boss. Made easier with the spread shot so as to avoid direct fire.

Tried to like this game but it's just so repetitive.

Does it change at all or does it have the same wave after wave of boring formations?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thanks Emporing, I was able to clear the game with your help

It has increasingly aggressive swarms of tanks, helicopters, planes, and the classic Toaplan "box" enemies. It's meant to keep you on your toes and react quickly, though this is somewhat ameliorated by the use of the blue spread.

It's a different (and older) type of shooter that was by-and-large discarded by the 90s for flashier, more varied stage design.

Even the more "celebrated" PCE shooters are kinda bland by modern comparison. Most of them are content to repeat boring enemy waves multiple times without posing any threat to the player whatsoever (looking at you Burning Angels).

Though K-Tiger is a bit better in this regard: stages have actual level design and you are not just flying over a repeating background (clouds or sea) the entire time.

This is one of my favorite shooters! Congrats on making it so far - I don't think I've ever passed the 5th stage. I love the soundtrack in Kyukyoku Tiger.
