10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

I love that game, it's better at horror than DOOM 3 IMO. Was there ever a sequel on any system?
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.

That's not saying much, as Doom 3 barely qualifies as "horror". :P
Quote from: Seldane on 04/21/2007, 07:28 PMDVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

Indeed, it's AV time. Check out: IMG! Sir, the door was open.

But it was designed to be a "horror" game, and it gets it's ass kicked by an ancient TG-16 game.

Anyway, can you answer the question please?

There is no sequel, at least not on the TurboGrafx.

Yeah, I actually liked Silent Debuggers... and I thought that it did a decent job of creating a suspenseful atmosphere. I remember being afraid of entering the outer-most corridors and confronting the "monsters".

Enemy Zero did the first person horror thing much better.

The suspense in Silent Debuggers is awesome. I love how it uses stereo sound as part of a gameplay mechanic by using the speakers to let you know where the enemies are coming from.
Quote from: TurboXray on 01/02/2014, 09:21 PMAdding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

It's also on a more advanced system. That's like saying a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano does the speed thing much better than a Lincoln Towncar.

I like that too. It's a shame this game is so underrated.

I love this game.  It seems to get harsh treatment for some reason, but like others mentioned, this is one game that really creates suspense and immerses you in the environment.  Save for some bad dialog translation, this is a great game and yet it gets reviews like this one.  Even the cover art is above par for a turbo game.  I never heard of a sequel for it.  Maybe FN could tackle that project, I don't think they have much to do
The Turbo was Dual Core when Dual Core wasn't cool . . .

CrackTiger

I remember either reading about a psudo sequel on a different console or someone mentioning it once.

What else has the devepoer made since then?
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

GUTS

No I meant better than Doom 3, I suppose it would have helped if I had added that.

You know, I really liked Silent Debuggers too, and I always felt that the Jaguar Alien Vs. Predator was kind of a spiritual successor to it, at least when playing as a Marine - it had a lot of the same feel, that sense of foreboding, of not wanting to open the door...

Turbo D

I wish that doom3 had melee attack. Seriously would be more fun, same goes for quake 4. I still like running around with the shot gun online though  :P
