Has anybody playing multiplayer madden found the extra point bug, that lets you score more tds?
I'm not cool

I can't play any right now due to not having a turbo tap. My favorites that I have played though are Dungeon Explorer,Bomberman '93 and Tv Sports Hockey. Devil's Crush isn't bad either if you just want to compete for score.

Say what you will,  but TV Sports Basketball rules for sports games!

Hey! I don't own this game, but I'm curious about this bug... please provide more info :)

From what I have seen in screenshots, the graphics in John Madden Duo CD Football look really nice, but I kind of don't want to spend money just for a football game since I hate them, haha. How much does this game usually go for anyways? Because I never really see it on Ebay when looking for games?

Play 2 players against the cpu.  Score a td preferably on 1st down.  Then on the extra point have one player take control of the kicker and then don't kick the ball.  I would generally run for the sideline and dive, making the kicker look like a crazy guy.  The defense will eventually tackle the holder and you should then have to kick off after missing the pat, but surprise you get the ball back on the spot where they tackled the holder.  I think on 4th down the cpu team would get the ball at the spot where they tackle the holder, but it has been a while since I've played it.

I don't think this works in a single player game because you don't take control of the kicker during the pat. I think you are the holder.

At the time it came out its release had been delayed a few times, and there are a few bugs in the penalty system too.  I think accepting a pass interfence call would get you the ball at the spot of the foul even if it was only 5 yds down the field, where you should get 15 yds.  And sometimes when you should have gotten an automatic first down it would take the result of the play say an incomplete pass with pass interfence and cost you a down.

They should have spent more time play testing and less time filming the video sequences.

Ahh, thank you. I don't know the rules to football, so I wouldn't have even noticed details like this!  I don't know the more nuanced rules to any sports, really, so I'd never be able to properly evaluate sports games :).

If anyone is willing to donate a copy of John Madden to me, I'll pay for postage and materials. OK, I'll buy it off you for a fair price (must be complete and in very good condition).  PM offers.

is Hit the Ice any good as a multi-player game?  i'm not a sports fan, but i had some fun playing Blades of Steel back in the day.

also, how much luck have people had playing multi-player Dungeon Explore 1 + 2?  I've played DE2 with two other people and it always seems to be more trouble than it's worth.  Someone always gets pushed into enemies and it sucks having to share the five lives no matter how many players there are.
one of the problems with being a retrogamer obsessed with strange old systems is trying to get friends to sit down and play 8 or 16-bit games they've never heard of.

I generally play in parties of 2-4 (we can never convince player #5 to keep playing!). This only happens 2-3 times a year, nowadays, when I'm visiting my family.  Yes, we have experienced the problems you mentioned, but you can overcome them by coordinating the teamwork.  That's what makes the game so fun (and challenging) when you have 4 people trying to remain unscathed: taking turns to pass the flamethrowers, protecting the injured characters, trying to survive the conveyor belts... DE I & II multiplayer is very much like Gauntlet, but holds its own!

Oh, and definitely share the power-ups :)

2-player co-op is definitley easier to coordinate, though. I've beaten I & II several times that way, but only once or twice times with 4 players.

Bomberman '93 is still my favorite Bomberman game.

Aeroblasters is awesome as a one player game, but you need a competant partner to finish it without running out of continues.

My girlfiend liked goofing around in Bonk 3's2 player mode, but was pretty much just dragging behind me most of the time. I think that it'd be fun with a partner skilled in the game/series.

Street Fighter II CE is my all-time favorite fighting game(I have an original model dedicated cabinet) and the PCE rev is my favorite version to play, even over the arcade, if for no other reason than because I played it so much back in the day and to a lesser extent to this day. I can play as fast as anyone using the 2 button pads, switching between punches & kicks with the Select button. Anyone who says this ruins the game hasn't really played it.

Motoroader is right up there with Bomberman for me. Back in the day, a couple of friends(and often my lil' bro) and I would play it and/or Bomberman(and later '93 & SFII) everyday at my place during lunch in high school. Everyone got so worked up over these games and were screaming and trash talking each other. When one guy in particluar was about to lose, he'd always hit Run + Select to reset the game.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

I'd add a vote for Hit the Ice. Only thing is, its really fun for a few minutes, then I kinda get tired of it.
