if she demands a fake tree and you give in...you must wrap empty boxes and give fake presents.

we are late bloomers and put it up mid december.  where i live, even watering twice a day, the thing is brown by christmas and will instantly set on fire when the lights turn on.  we use the old school lights.  none of this LED crap.  i will admit, the LEDs have gotten "better" over the years, but nothing beats the older lights.

I usually don't bother with decorations (not even an aluminum pole), but when I do I wait to put 'em up until December 5th, a tradition from when I was a little robot and didn't start with x-mas stuff until the day after my Dad's birthday.

Thanksgiving is always the last Thursday of November. The day after is when Christmas really goes into full swing here.

My tree is in the attic now (fakkler, so sure me). After Thanksgiving I'll pull it down and set up it along with the rest of the Christmas shite.

This year we're doing it a bit differently as our family schedule is a bit wonkey this go 'round.  We're actually going to decorate on Thanksgiving's eve.  Usually we are of the Friday after Turkey day frame of mind.

Christmas lights are up on the outside of the house and the lights are on the tree.  My responsibilities are complete.  My wife does the rest of the decorations.

OK, since this thread has ONLY ONE PHOTO of an actual XMAS tree, I will help it along.

HOWEVER, I can't promise that more than 5% of the tree will be visible, since it is a PCE XMAS... as you can see, XMAS has invaded my tiny corner of the living room where my tiny desk is located (the *only* space that is exclusively mine in the entire house, SRSLY).
