The original Blade Runner is my favourite film, I'm not hopeful for this new one, it's not directed by Ridley Scott this time, I feel him directing was the key component that made the original a masterpiece.
This new director Denis Villeneuve doesn't have a great track record http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0898288/

Well I don't know much about this (nor do I care one way or the other, I'll probably go see it) but that Denis Villenueve directed Sicario which I thought was pretty good. Wasn't a great movie or anything but it certainly wasn't bad.

I thought Sicario was really boring, had a great cast, but just seemed to not really go anywhere, I barely made it to watching the end of the film.
His latest film is a sci fi movie and called "Arrival" which I saw getting panned in film reviews

Arrival had a 94% fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.  Despite that, I saw it, and it sucked.

Interesting, I've heard a lot of really great things about Arrival, too. I've wanted to see that at some point.

I've been looking forward to this movie ever since I watched Prometheus (which was early last year).  However, I didn't find the trailer to be all that great.  If anything, I found the trailer to be a little disappointing.
