10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

I want to purchase some of the best SHUMPS for the system and would like some input if possible (I have a PC Engine (non-modded) so they have to be the Japanese Games)
Here is what I have:
Sapphire
Lords of Thunder
Gate of Thunder
Macross2036

Thanks!

GUTS

I was always partial to Mr Heli for some reason.

DragonmasterDan

Gunheed
Final Soldier
Soldier Blade

Haha, Rock On.

Toilet Kids is underrated, it's an outstanding game. And I would have to say Star Parodia is one of my favorites definitely.

Keep 'em coming...some great ones for me to look for to play on my real PC Engine. BTW, I have played Toilet Kids on Magic Engine...very interesting :)
The beauty of having Magic Engine is I can check them out before buying what I really want for the "real deal". Which IMHO, I would much rather use. Being 50yrs old...I don't have to use glasses when playing on the TV vs the computer ;)

PC Denjin / Air Zonk (card is a better game than CD Denjin)
Super Raiden
R-Type 1
Gunhed/Super Star Soldier/Soldier Blade/Final Soldier
Star Parodier

one thing i love about this system is the endless supply of vintage shooters.
as i get older, i find myself less willing to sit down and make the time investment to play an RPG and shooting games are great for mindless fun.
i recently purchased and have been playing a lot of Areo Blasters, Dead Moon, Psychosis, Cyber-Core and Monster Lair.  I'd recommend Area Blasters and Dead Moon as well as Monster Lair if you're looking for more of an action game.

i love the part at the beginning of areo blasters where you're cruizing along over a nice, blue Earth and the aliens nuke everything.
I'm a cunt, always was. Topic Adjourned.

Dead Moon and Psychosis are great games that vestcunt mentioned; those titles don't get very much attention!
