Minor change to NEC COMPATIBILITY GUIDE + question

Hi aaron

1. A thread at magicengine got me to thinkin': in your compatibility guide, you stick with 1 decimal place (because it looks nicer that way, no doubt). However, if you use 2 decimal places, you'll be able to distinguish between the North American and Japanese System cards (see items in bold below). NA cards always end in ".01"

2. Do you know why there was a Japanese 2.00 and 2.10? My theory is that 2.10 was sold separately, and thus had a case and manual, unlike the pack-in system cards. Does this make any sense?

System Card (2.10)  -- Sold separately? Thus, came with case & manual, unlike previous three system cards? Why would this be necessary.... hmmm.... I don't know. For folks who lost their pack-in System Cards? For folk who had the orginal 1.00 and wanted to feel special by getting 2.0?

Super System Card (3.00) Card -- Japan. Sold separately. Case & manual.
Super System Card (3.01) Card -- North America. Sold separately. Case & manual.

UPDATE: Well, I may have answered my own question about System Card 2.10.  According to this page:

"System card Ver.2.1, new design system card for CD-Rom System, which deteled the DEBUG function on Ver.1.0 (>_<)

(Yen 4,800 06-07-1990)"

So, in addition to getting this new info verified, I'd love to know what this Debug function was all about!

The reason that I don't indicate NA cards as ".01" is because this type of naming convention isn't official.  Nowhere on NA cards or packaging do they say ".01" (this sounds like something that PCECP.com used for catalog purposes).  I'd think that naming them with ".01" is actually confusing since it isn't the official version number of the cards.  

So, in addition to getting this new info verified, I'd love to know what this Debug function was all about!

Me too  I've not had any experience with the debug feature of the 1.0 card so I can't be of much help there.
