Ok, I'm building a consolized MVS...

For as cheap as possible. So far I have the following:
1x MVS MV-1F $125 with caps redone and Puzzle Bubble Bobble
1x Super Gun (got it from cjameslv from these very forums!)
2x ps2 to neo geo converters $40
1x very beatup pc case

Now I'm trying to get a atx 200-300 watt switching power supply and was curious on what people have used for their supergun setups? I'm also curious to see if there is anything I need to soder and what else I need to do to accomplish this task? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not 100% sure but 300w might be a lil much for the power supply unless it's a cheap brand then it would be fine as those are overrated anyway. I thought of doing this as well at one point but realized unsoldering and extending all the buttons and connectors from the pcb would be a huge chore and i get lazy if a mod takes more than a day or two. Please keep us updated as you build this, i'm glad to see you got a vision and making it happen.

I'm into this for $179.45 now.. Now to fashion some sort of power button so I don't have to touch the board everytime I turn it on..
Edit: Is it necessary to get a jamma cable from the supergun to the mvs board?

You have pretty much a plug and play set up since the neo board you got has controller ports and volume control. Just get the PSU and plug it all in. You could just mount the PCB to a piece of plexi glass if you wanted to.

So I don't have to worry about getting Jamma to MVS converters for the stereo sound or anything? Hmm this is going to be cheaper than I originally thought.

there's a 3.5mm audio out from the vogatek supergun and volume adjust on the pcb.

you could also use the headphone port on the MV-1F for stereo.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. The fact I'm doing this for under $200 so far is making my wife very happy as she wasn't down with me blowing $500-$700 for consolized mvses. Anyway, I'll post pictures of my progress. It won't be the prettiest thing in the world but at least it will cover up the bare circuits..

I would go more generalized supergun than a CMVS, because dem PCBs be addicting.

Might just do that with some of the system 16 stuff like Golden Axe and maybe Outrun though I imagine the steering wheel mechanism and vibrations would require more tinkering..

You haven't got a cMVS setup there...you have something much better. A Supergun setup Like others have said, you can connect any JAMMA pcb up to that Supergun now. Watch out though, PCBs can be expensive and addictive .

You'll probably need to make an adapter for it. This is a link to the pinout of Donkey Kong (not sure if the 2-layer PCB is different from any other version). http://www.crazykong.com/pins/Donkeykong.pin.txt The only real problem I see is that the board requires +24v.

The +24 volt are just for the coin counter which isn't necessary to get the PCB up & running.

Cool. So a simple adapter should get your DK running on your supergun no probs.
