Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

I have been to lazy. Why?  What INSAINE asking prices have they dreamed up now?

Are we talking Little Samson levels of price fuckery?
It's regularly selling complete for $150 - $175. Under $200 with spine card.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

I saw a bunch sold at $250. Just taken a little back lol

It's still a good value for a great 20+ year old video game collectible.

$700 for a tacky bootleg made this year is unbelievable.

I found this locally on Saturday with the Tennokoe bank.

So this means they valued the game at about 140$ or so.

I couldn't leave it there for some fuckup to buy and resell for the eBay prices.

Anything from 120-150$ is "OK" right now, but still a bit mental.

The game has always been pricey, though.

This price was cheaper than what it's been going for in Japan lately, too.   Sometimes, the Exchange fucks up in our favor.

But the real question is how much that BK soda was.

And would the tranny in your avatar approve?

Lol every time I see that avatar I remember that thread someone made of "her". Then fail at remembering "her" name.

However I am sure "she" is happy to have the use of a public bathroom that she can used based on "her" gender "she" identifies with.

I was trying to be sarcastic in my prolific use of gender identifier terms.

Sadly either I was lacking in the funny department or my sarcasm was off point. Possibly both

This is one of those titles that I've basically given up on ever owning.   The price is typically out of my range, and the price on the repro is ridiculous too.

Instead of buying food for a month, put it towards an original Dracula X.

Long after you shat out the final remnants of that food, you'll be enjoying Dracula X.

Why do you think I skip all my meals (except breakfast)?

Sure, I'll develop health issues, but...don't we all, anyway?

I am only half-joking, by the way.

Dracula X will provide lots of entertainment. You will replay it over the years.

Esteban,

I own most castlevanias, but not Dracula x. My cdr English and original Japanese  burns play without issue, I also  have both Bernie bias releases, which are what I use when I play now,  so would it not be collectarded of me to take a copy off the market? Is it not folly to skip meals for a game I can play identically  already though various means?

The hoarder and nostalgic in me encouragea me to say duck it and give in, the piss poor artist who enjoys meals encouragea burritos.

I am in quite a quandary

Back to the actual OP question, I'd say that current prices are higher for sure, but it's still worth getting.

I know a lot of the older collectors were able to get this title for around $80 (Myself included) back in the day, but I doubt it will snap back anytime soon. Not with the current retro-game craziness going on anyway. I don't know if the game will hit Sylphia level crazyness in terms of price, but I can't see it getting cheaper. You just have to judge the quality of the game, the current price, and the likelihood of you getting it cheaper in the future.

I can tell you one thing, if you consider $100~$130 expensive, you better start moving! Bazaru de Gozaru, Dead of the Brain, and a host of other games have already blown passed this mark and are genuinely less common. It's all a matter of when you want to dig your feet in... like investing in stocks. You can get in with the early investors, or later. But the longer you wait, the less benefits you'll get.

PS: In my humble opinion, when you talk about $100-$130, that's still in the impulse-buy zone for me. Especially if your someone who works and has a full time job. It's only when you get into $200+ territory that I start to think about purchases in a much more critical way. Consider joining the club, while things are still (in the grand scheme of things) "affordable". :-D

the op is in Hong Kong, Dracula x is well known and in demand, hence the price,

but Bazaru de Gozaru, Dead of the Brain are not well known, thus, if it appears on yahoo hong kong auctions chances that these obscure games end with low prices

SignOfZeta

Nobody knows the numbers but Dracula X would seem to be 100 times as common as Bazaru and Slyphia. Those are crazy hard to find games. Until recently the price has always reflected this. Lots of people here have Drac X, maybe two people here have Bazaru. I've personally never seen a copy. Dead of the Brain was at least obviously on the market (quite a few people were shocked when it was announced) but Bazaru is this thing...who actually remembers when it came out? I never saw an ad for it. The PCE magazines were discontinued by then. I used to watch anime taped of Japanese TV a lot back then, never saw an advert.

I seriously hope the noob retro gamers don't take your attitude because if they do you can forget this game staying below $300.
