Opinions on talking during modding videos

I have a number of consoles here that I plan on filming while I mod them to put on YouTube. The trouble I find is that it's not very quiet where I work on consoles. So I had the thought of either dubbing speech over top of the videos or just using subtitles. The alternative is having lots of background noise. I would appreciate opinions. Also if I did subtitles I would overlay with music, most likely Arkhans music.

Most console mods take like, what, an hour? And the interesting stuff can easily be compressed to like...4 minutes. Therefore I suggest you film the whole process and record the four minutes of monologue later.

I appreciate the opinion. That is kind of what I was leaning towards.

Definitely dub for the final mix.

Definitely paint your fingernails.

Definitely adopt an "angry" persona and yell throughout your video.

Definitely call the series "X-Treme Modification Mayhem: Full Metal Iron"

You are welcome.

I'd suggest dubbing, too. Plus, cut away all the boring inbetween crap and condense the video to what's really important. Most people have a short lifespan of a few minutes before they fall asleep. If you ever want to exceed the ten minutes mark, make sure to get some excitement in there. There are only a few Youtube show hosts who are able to keep their audience watching half an hour long videos.

You mean just like AvE does?

Thanks for all the input. Even if I did speak during the videos I would cut away most of the nonsense. Or at least speed up monotonous parts. But it sounds like dubbing is the way to go.

ChuChu Flamingo

The Angry Video Game Repair Nerd, I would watch it.

Definitely dub it as I doubt people like listening to wind chimes.

Arkhan Asylum

stephen hawking the instructions over the video.  Don't sit and deepthroat a mic while working.

Nobody wants to hear heavy breathing/grunting/noises

unless they're watching porn.
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

I made a video for the Hi-Def NES prep work. Let me know what you guys think. I just used subtitles instead of talking, but I did record talking the entire time, which turned out so so.
