I recently rewired an old 8 pin din SMS cable for use on my newly RGB modded Duo and I am wonder if I should add audio as 3.5mm, similar to cables made for the Model 1 Genesis/MegaDrive.

After researching the major cable retailers I notice 3.5mm isn't even an option.  Are the aux outs on Duo's infamously bad or something?

I'm afraid I don't understand the question or why you'd want your audio as 3.5mm...especially since if you have a Duo (non-R) you already have 3.5mm from the headphone jack.

Duo's pass stereo audio through the DIN. You don't need to use the headphone jack to get audio. However if your cable was wired with one then you either need to rewire the DIN connector on the cable or you will be forced to use the headphone jack for audio.
