I finally got with the program and got a copy of Resident Evil 4 for the Wii, picked it up used. Dude, this game fucking rocks. I can't stop playing it. The poor ol' Turbo has been neglected this past week because all the free game time I get I'm playing RE4. The Wii controls make the game soooo fucking playable, especially aiming. Action games like this that require you to aim with the analog thumbstick can blow my nuts. Pointing at what I want to shoot is where it's at. Graphics are pretty good, obviously not the best of the current generation, but passable. But the gameplay... Oh man, the gameplay. The other night I was up until like 4am playing, the hours just flew by. I would've played longer too but I had shit to do in the morning. Fuck Halo 3 and Gears of War. Get a Wii and Resident Evil 4.

Keranu

I've been wanting to play this game since I never liked the other RE games but heard this one fixed the gameplay.

In other news, Capcom is doing what they do best again - milking. This time they are remaking Resident Evil Zero for Wii.

Agreed 20000.68%  That's why I loved Metroid Prime 3, but hated the first 2.

Wii is amazing for FPS'. I have never, ever been able to adjust using mouse + keyboard and more especially dual analog sticks for FPS games, but by holding the Wiimote + nunchuck, I can instantly adapt to the control scheme. It was a little hard for Red Steel since they did a crummy job, but Metroid Prime 3 was incredible and I hear Medal of Honor Heroes 2 controls the best. They need to make more FPS' for Wii (and hopefully non-meat head war ones like on X-Box or something).

I can't imagine anyone finding anything to dislike about RE4, seriously, so if you disliked the previous ones this is the one to try. I had started to play Resident Evil CV for the Dreamcast, which I also really really dig, but I've pretty much stopped until I finish RE4.

So far RE4 is one of only two absolute MUST-OWN games for the wii (out of all that I own, about 10 or 11 titles), the other being Super Mario Galaxy. I have yet to pick up Metroid Prime 3, though, I really want it. Anyone wanna trade a copy for a factory sealed Super Mario Galaxy?

Have you made it up to the monks that chant "Go Hitler! Go Hitler! Go Hitler!" yet?

I didn't like that game much. I should probably give it another go.
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.
THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS RULE!

I had played some resident evil on a friends ps2. I loved the game but hated the controls. Perhaps I should buy a wii so I can finally play this game.

I thought the controls were easy on the PS2, actually better than the previous installments. On the Wii it just looks much more entertaining. I'm really trying to push myself to get a Wii this year. I have the money but something more desirable always pops up.

I probably needed to get used to them

When I eventually get my Wii, this will be my first game. Why? Because zombies rule, that's why.

I'm taking a quick forum break from the game right now. :)

No, not yet. I'm only about 5 hours in.

I'm more interested in getting Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles myself since it's a light gun game and light gun games rule.

Funny you mention that-- I had both RE4 and RE:UC in my hands in the store. In the end I had to go with RE4 since I'd heard so many good things about and virtually nothing about UC. Like you, the big draw for me on UC was the ability to use my Wii zapper since currently the only game I have that supports it is Link's Crossbow Training (which is strangely addictive).

Anyone know anything about Umbrella Chronicles?

Keranu

Link's Crossbow Training is indeed strangely addictive. They need to make more old skool score based games.

SNKNostalgia

I own the GC version of RE4 and have beat it with all kinds of ranks and extras without much problems. My friend has the Wii version which is fun also. Some things I noticed on the Wii: 1) The aiming is 5x more forgiving control wise and with the aiming cursor using a big circle. It almost makes it too easy. 2) The game just seems easier. It seems to take less shots to kill the enemies and bosses. 3) The wiggling frantic option makes it more fun, like your freaking out to cut the rope on your leg or something.

I really never had problems with analog controls for FPS type games. Most games you can change sensitivity and you just got to be precise with practice. One FPS that is fun but pisses me off with aiming is Black for Xbox/Ps2, head shots aren't easy to pull off even when aimed right and there is a max distance your bullets can go.
