About playing,you're 20 years late.
I played most of my game back in the 90s, i played thousands of hours on my PCE and I loved every minute of it.
But you playing 1 hour in 2009 doesn't make you more a gamer than me playing 10 hours in 1995. It's not a competition, there is no "update" needed.
Besides, i can't have time to play PCE only, when i'm dedicated to 24 other systems. I love playing MD or SFC as well. 1 hour playing SFC isn't worth "less" than playing 1 hour PCE,that's ridiculous. thinking that would be elitist to the ultimate level.

First, im only 21. ;) 20 years ago I wasn't doing much of anything.  Being late for playing? Its never too late to game. Playing for only 1 hour? lol.  Gaming is pretty much my life.  And im not talking just video games here. tabletop too.  I put 10+ hrs into games a day.  But like I said, its not a competition really and Im glad you actually play stuff instead of amassing goods that never get used.  comparing numbers is a waste of time.  I never said anything about playing another system besides pce making you "less of a gamer".  You're jumping to conclusions and putting words in my mouth.

If you left the C= scene,that's probably because your attitude wasn't accepted there, and you got kicked out of the scene like a dirty hobo. That's probably what you deserved.

I left the C= scene because it is the most dramatic bunch of people I have ever encountered.  Not because they "dont like my attitude".  A lot of people were bummed that I was leaving since I was helpful/coding a game/did some music stuff.  Did you see the few examples I gave of the attitudes of people there?
There are rifts in the C= community, and alot of it is so bad there are in person fights, lawsuits, police involvement.....theft/money scams.  A lot of crap that has probably been instrumental in C= becoming the punch line to most computer communities jokes.  A select handful of maybe 15 people bring that community into the ground.  They have driven dozens of people out, and have really screwed things up for the Commodore community.   Theyre the reason I never put Berzerk on the C64.  I started it, and then thought "why bother" and decided the PCE is a better choice.  The Commodore community is in shambles.

In nat's (and my) opinion, that is not adequate justification.  Most of us here don't believe that copying the disc will ruin the value of the original, so Thibaut's justification is no more valid than saying it's to keep the sky from falling.  Either way though, Thibaut keeping it to himself to protect its value is selfish, as the disc's value is important to him and him alone.

Nat is clearly the subject of the first sentence, so logically the 'he' in the second sentence refers to nat as well.  I was also implying that Thibaut is acting selfishly by not sharing, which is 100% correct.  The only reason that he has stated thus far for not sharing is to protect his investment.  The CDR's perceived value unquestionably affects only Thibaut, so how is acting to preserve that value anything other than a selfish act?  Remember, justifiable or not, it is still selfishness.

the forum retro-link.com was started by another long standing C= member and a few friends who also got fed up.  I was asked to help found it, and I did.  So yeah, I sure was kicked out.  Denial Vic-20 just recently had a bunch of asshole moderators de-modded due to their BS.  One guy sold all his stuff.  Another just threw stuff out and left. Is it really a common fact, Xamot?  Seems pretty logical that you can get deeper into thought being highly proficient in one language as opposed to being subpar in several.  Besides- if it's intelligence you've been aiming for- you've failed miserably.  Note that I'm not knocking those who learn Japanese to understand PCE RPGs or anything- but I'm knocking you- you who act as if "learning" all of these languages makes you some sort of supreme demigod of thought.  The fact is that most complicated English phrases and words will fly directly over your head- and in order to really get through to you it has to be partially dumbed down- in your case even that doesn't help however as your brain itself seems broken. 

Speaking of broken- you're like a broken record repeatedly trying to say I was mocking this guy's busted English when I was really asking for clarification because I hadn't the slightest damn clue what he was trying to relay.

This is incongruous; a total non-sequitor, and furthermore a tasteless and blatant insult. You are a legal adult at age 18 in the US. By saying that Arkhan just became an adult last year is simply incorrect for extrapolations sake. He's been enjoying the full benefits of the US Constitution for four years, despite only being able to consume alcohol for >2. If you want to use hyperbole to push your points, please do it somewhere else.

This thread is locked.  I am GREATLY disappointed with everyone involved from the forum about this topic which should have been 15 pages of discussion about this rare auction - NOT a flame war with fellow collectors from overseas.

We all should be mature enough to have civil discussions with one another without turning every damn topic into a war.  If you feel like you just have to make a rash or rude comment that could start a unnecessary war then don't post.  I don't ask for much so this should be a very simple request to handle by everyone.
