I am sure not too many people noticed or cared, Metal Gear Solid is the most over rated garbage series of games there is.

Overrated?  Maybe so (similar to pretty much all million plus selling titles) but calling it garbage is going overboard.

Agreed, there's FAR worse out there.  The stories can get a bit ridiculous/convoluted, but gameplay wise they're decent/fun.

MGS 4 was all movies, most of which were boring and overly obscure, with a little bit of gameplay here and there.

Although, I will admit, I dislike stealth games in general. I like action and don't need to be sneaking around. So boring and not fun!

The opposite improvments were made in Resident Evil.  More action and more fun than early games, just to give an example of a series gone right.

Never played beyond the first MGS, but it was pretty cool.  But I do think I had more fun with the original NES metal gear -- the crappy graphics of the original gave some room for the imagination to play a part.  (Or probably just nostalgia making the experience seem better than it really was)

not many video game series have managed to tie their entire story together over the course of 20 years....especially one as off the wall but still sensible.

complete with a unique mess of characters, GOOD stealthing (Splinter Cell hit the LOLNO button on that one), and alot of flair.

sure MGS4 had alot of movies, but it also had alot of game.  The movies were pretty epic (raiden fighting vamp ?  Wooo!), and the way they did stealth in MGS4 was awesome to say the least.  Esp. on big boss mode.

Game was 59.99$. Theres like 10-15 hrs of actual gameplay, and then the movies....

10-15 hrs is a pretty good amount.  I mean, Contra III on SNES was the same price (more or less), and you can finish the entire game in like 1.5 hours

The movies are a nice added touch to flesh out the story.  You can't really get that kind of story presentation with quick voice overs while youre shooting terrorists in the back with a shotgun.

If they took out the movies, the game would lose most of its charm.  The characters would all be hollow tools.

I think you may need to look up the definition of Boring.

I fail to see how Raiden tap dancing on vamps chest with knife shoes is boring.
Or the motorcycle scenes, or raiden vs. boat.

or snake at the beginning sneaking around.

Maybe some of the talking stuff is boring, but theres not really a solid way of presenting serious portions of the game in a fast paced manner.

as for the "slow gameplay" , I can't help you there.  Metal Gear has been "slow" since forever.  Its Tactical Espionage, not Spastical Shooteverything
