Worst Games I have Played : # 6 Alf the First Adventure Atari ST/Commodore 64)

This game at first tries to make itself look sophisticated by explaining every single nuance of game play , to the point where the manual could be used to introduce mentally-handicapped people to game consoles at some point .

Sadly , they would find this game especially bad for use in rehabilitation programs of any kind because all it produces is anger . And frustration . Horrible , horrible frustration .



This game has a rather tired plot : assemble parts of Alf's ship . But in order to do so you must first catch several cats . And in order for you to be able to catch these you must have recently have eaten a pizza . While you run around trying to catch cats with your "pizza power" desperately depleting , you must evade the clutches of the evil dog catcher and your worst enemy....Willy . Willy whose floating head comes chasing after you relentlessly , with the horrible intent of.....taking all your items away from you . All of them . Even if you have the cats stored away in the garage and you are two pieces away from collecting the spaceship , you lose everything the moment Mr. Gogglehead touches .



This image shall soon be burned into your retina .

Soon enough you will find that actually dodging any of these aforementioned dangers is next to impossible thanks to the wonderful controls and the brilliant idea of making the passageways so narrow that even fitting into them requires surgical assistance . And lets not forget the randomly generating garbage cans which stun you on impact and make you watch in fear as your pizza power depletes and the Terrible Duo draw mercilessly near.

I think I tried playing this on an emulator but couldn't get it to work.

I'm a big fan of the Master System ALF game .

Not that it matters because of how repulsive it is .

I hope the other reviews will be a little more witty then this one .

I actually had this game on my Apple II C+ when I was a kid, and it was one of my favorite games on the computer.  It was Pacman, but with more involvement.  Also, I was wild about Alf when I was a kid, so that helped me enjoy the game.

This could be an instance of nostalgia blocking out how bad the game really is...  but I don't think so.  I am pretty sure this is an above average Pac-Clone.

I looked up some reviews of it just to be sure and the ones I did find were rather negative .
