Does anyone here try the pachio-kun games with pachio-kun controller?
I have a pachio-kun controller (but no games) and I wanted to make sure it worked on all 4 available games?
I know the controller came packaged with one of the 4 games, which one?
Pachio-kun part 3 super-CD looks cool with more gameplay and less Japanese reading....agree?
Will all these games be difficult without knowing Japanese? I just want to play the machine without all the story telling if that's possible. :-k

My thoughts about the controller is that it is cool that it works on any other PCE game (minus the turbo switches) and the fact that it is SO big and thick it fits in my hands WAY better than a regular tiny flat tg16 or PCE controller. If it had turbo switches I would probably use it for most of my game collection.

I think the famicom had a similar controller.

The controller was packaged with Pachiokun Maboroshi No Densetsu, and PCECP lists it as compatible with all four titles.  Now I really want to test drive one of these things... wanna give me yours?  8-[

They crop up on eBay often.  I'm guessing it's a pachinko controller?  How does it work?

Soop- yes i have a pachinko controller like I stated but i was asking about the games that are compatible. But if you or anyone have ANY pc-engine game that doesn't require turbo switches, i recommend this controller since it fits in the hands really well, almost like an xbox360 controller. And the D-pad actually works really smoooth.  :D

Necromancer-Thanks for the input. I will try a couple of the pachio-kun PCE titles soon. Good to know ALL 4 TITLES work!!!!! No you can't have mine but there is one on ebay super cheap....but now I can't find it?  :( it was from Hit_Japan but it looks like it gone.

I'm not the only one looking into this pachinko/Pachio-kun game title thing....am I?
I think it's cool, I looked at videos of REAL pachinko parlors in japan, and the whole concept seems interesting.

I know you have the controller 9___9 but how does it work?  I mean the trigger thing.
IIRC, pachinko involves getting a whole load of ballbearings and shoving them in a vertical pinball-type machine.  Do you actually use ballbearings in the controller?

 8) Soop- Yup that's the one. You found it on ebay! Kewl!!! I dont have a pachinko game title to test it on, but it works on ANY other PCE game title. I haven't actually tested the slider mechanism since I don't have any of the games. But I can say...The D-pad is smooooth and the feel of a LARGER controller in the hands works better than a regular PCE controller. But lack of turbo switches is a negative.

I recommend !  =D> ...I cant wait to try a pachio-kun title...!!!!! updates soon, fingers crossed.

The trigger is basically a spring loaded slider that controls the force/trajectory of the balls in the game.  No actual ballbearings are used.

I do agree, the controller's d-pad feels pretty good.  I played Street Fighter II with this controller just for the hell of it.   It seemed a bit too bulky for me to used for other games though.

Here's some pics of mine when I sold it about a year ago....

the trigger just launches the balls and you watch them fall and maybe you score points maybe you dont its all luck and some skill. Check Pachinko Sexy Reaction in MAME.

Pachinko really is an annoying, smoky, noisy waste of time.

True story: When I first moved to Japan, and I found my first actual game shop, I was delighted to see lots of cheap PCE games for sale!  BUT no actual PCE hardware...

After a couple weeks, they had a bare black CoreGrafx (and also a bare SCD-ROM2 unit) for sale, which I snapped up, but the ONLY PCE controller for sale in the shop was this Pachinko controller!  I had to play games like Dynastic Hero, Populous, and even Street Fighter II' in mono through RF (no AV cables at the shop, remember) on a broken 10-inch TV, with that bulky yellow Pachinko control pad.

And those days are still great memories to me...

Exactly the kind of video game shops I dig in Japan.
