The Vistar (sp) was HuCard only. Those are bootlegs

I didn't know  "Super Zeroiga" is a PCEngine game.

As everyone has said, these are bootlegs. And the seller puts a blurry photo in the auction, to boot!

I love how they are "Korean Versions" that he just happened to pick up in  "Mexico" -- pure genius! Genius!

That's the equiavalent of saying: "I got this Dracula X SCD froma shop Russia. The shopkeeper told me it was a Chinese version of the game."

Well, the origin isn't really an issue...we buy games form Japan all the time, yet most of us do not live there. :D The Korean thing is interesting though...obviously he's lifting a concept from the Korean-built PCE systems and hoping no one notices the false association.

Hm..."Super zeroiga" looks like Daisenryaku...

Its important to know that in places like Korea, the Philippines, the difference between a bootleg, and an offical release isn't that well known, or cared about. They just want the game.

A Japanese video game release of 7800 yen or whatever is like two months groceries to a lot of people, so naturally they aren't big sellers. Because of this it can sometimes be hard to even find an official release of anything in these countries. This isn't as bad as it was 10 years ago, but its still pretty bad.

I have a friend that has a lot of Philippines released bootleg PS1 games. They say, "Players Choice" on them instead of Playstation. When his family goes home to visit family and stuff, they stock up on them. I guess they know they are fakes, but they don't really care.

speaking of games that look like CDRs, am I the only one that thinks Cosmic Fantasy 2 looks like a bootleg? the image on the CD is blurry and bumpy, like a homemade CD...

grahf

Your right, but then again high quality prints on CDs were kinda rare back then. Just look at most audio cds from 80s (if it wasnt a text only label that is).

You're correct, the origin isn't an issue. But, you missed my point (not that I made it clear): In a mocking manner, I "love" the seller's creativity . He could have simply said that he was selling Korean versions. As you pointed out, he was hoping that the existence of the Vistar might lend credibility to his claim (and possibly even generate interest in collectors who want obscure stuff).

But was this enough? No! He wanted to add another layer of confusion to confound things further, hence his casual statement that he obtained the merchandise from Mexico.

Personally, I think he was trying to distance himself (as much as he could)  from the bootlegs. To achieve this, he concocted a scenario where he "doesn't know anything" and is simply "trusting what folks have told him." He's twice-removed (at minimum) from the alleged origin of the CDs.

Of course, I should have done a better job explaining what my earlier comment meant! But I was lazy :)

Not to worry...I always miss the point anyways. I guess I'm just not very sharp.

Hahaha he used Sunteam Paul's Dracula X video from YouTube.

I can tell because he always uses the "PC Engine Gameplay" intro.

lets also consider that fact many of his auctions are PRIVATE auctions, and his most recent NON-private auction was a spindle of CDrs he bought.  i find that hilarious.
The weak will fall, the strong remain.

CrackTiger

I like how he's got a few "adult" dvds with the disclaimer:

"Attention eBay staff, this disk does not violate any of the eBay regulations or rules. Disks are not copies, the are the original Hong Kong Video CD release."

But not because of the fact that he's selling bootleg games as "might-be-real-or-something".

Because in this particular auction(upskirt cam dvds), it says: "No actresses here, only real girls on their way to school and work."

Which is totally illegal.

And then he gets intimate and goes into detail about his personality in this auction.

Which is hilarious enough("...a personal favorite", "Japanese girls will do anything for money"), but then at the bottom he's got screenshots of a couple guys chasing a girl and lifting up her skirt with the previous disclaimers of:

"No actresses here, only real girls on their way to school and work."

and

"Attention eBay staff, this disk does not violate any of the eBay regulations or rules."

It all reminds me of a story a friend of my girlfriends told her. She worked at a gas station and one day a guy stepped out of his car smoking a cigarette, fueled up and walked inside still smoking. So she told him right away, "you can't smoke here". And the guy was like, "No, no; they're menthol".
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!
