I sleep 6 and a half to 7 hours a night.  And that's only if I have classes in the morning or saturday morning cartoons to watch.

Any other day, I sleep a good 10 hours.

You really do need to have some sleep, Mike.  No wonder you're so cranky here sometimes.

I say its over rated. I go alot without it,and Im still pretty solid. When I sleep,its only in small burst 2-3 hours at the most unless Ive been up  a really long stretch. Yea sure,somestimes when youve gone without it for a long time,you start to get irate,hear stuff,get paranoid,but I do have to say,after like a 48 hour run of no sleep,when you do finally crash,thats like the best sleep ever.

Sometimes I get really wound,cant sleep,and I will use something like cold and flu tabs to help get me sleepy. Otherwise,I just continue to stare at the tv searching for anything on,any reason to stay awake longer.

I do have kids though,and that tends to keep me busy during the day,so anything I like to do I dont usually get to do untill they go to bed because of homework,dinner,ect ect....Typical parent stuff.

I love sleep but I don't get enough. To make matters worse, the past few nights I've had trouble sleeping (probably due to stress from the holidays... I don't think I'll be able to fix all the things I need to before the relatives come over on xmas .

I can't wait until I paint the stairs tonight!

I concede the fact that I have to sleep (And I get a good 7 1/2 or so hours every day).

But I hate the fact that human beings have to sleep that much everyday.  I mean, you waste off 1/3 of your life sleeping.  If you live to 75 years, you slept away 25 years of your life.  Ugh, the things one could've accomplished during that time.

Well, I know it won't change anything, but I sometimes wish if we can do with say with 2 hrs of sleep a day and be fully recovered for the next 22 hrs.

No, it's a reference from Stephen King's Insomnia actually.  In the book, the main character suffers from permanent insomnia and one of his symptoms involves seeing three little bald doctors with scissors.
