No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

I don't want to pay £40 extra.  This is bullshit.  Why should I pay £40 extra for a 20 year old system that was never sold here in the first place?

How can I get out of this?

Because you dared to send your money to foreigners and it hurts your economy.

I guess you haven't done much importing or that your country has pretty lax customs.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Don't know much about British custom charges but in sweden or rather packages to sweden should never ever NEVER EVER be sent by EMS because over here every single EMS is checked and taxed for customs.
From Japan only acept SAL or Regular Airmail nothing else....Why? I tell you the customs office check EMS for Drugs steroids and contraband But let everything else just passby because "nobody is so stupid" to send expencive stuff without insurance and tracking no.
To Sweden I've never lost a package or have had to pay custom charges for any thing sent this way but every thime someone sends me an EMS I've had to pay extra taxes
It's probably the same in GB....

I just got my Duo-R a couple of weeks ago from Japan and he sent it EMS.  Either I got lucky or they aren't as strict about that stuff here in the states.  40 pounds is a pretty hefty amount to pay, but then VAT is pretty pricey over there isn't it?

Customs laws are pretty reasonable in the US when dealing with Japan. I've carried 2 grand worth of stuff through the airport before np. That said just to be safe make damn sure your seller marks the package as gift. Hit-Japan does. Also usually a good idea to keep orders managebly small. and in the end customs agents are underpaid assholes who like to mess with people so consider the occasional whammy all part of the game.
