I was just wondering if anyone had a spare 1.0 CD system card on hand they would either trade or sell me. I just picked up the Altered Beast CD rom. I have many loose PC engine Hu cards I could trade.

If you have a flash cart, you can load the Sys 1.0 ROM on it and use it as a Sys 1.0 card instead of tracking one down. Just in case you didn't know....

I have purchased from Ninja Castle previously and they are reliable.

Maybe worth checking with them that this is indeed a 1.0 card as the pic shows a 2.1 card!

I've been on the look out for a 1.0 as well actually. I play Altered Beast quite often and have to play using magic engine. Not sure what happened, but I was able to make it to level 3 with a 3.0 card once on my turbo cd setup. Once in a lifetime fluke obviously as I haven't been able to reproduce it.

another vouch for ninja castle - I've gotten a few things from them and they're great.

why on earth does this game require a sys 1.0 card? O_o

There is a flaw in the System 1.0 code that Altered Beast apparently exploits; the flaw was corrected in System 2.0. That's all I know. :)
Turbo Badass Rank: Janne (6 of 12 clears)

I have several of these unboxed in stock in Florida.

I can match anyone else's price so let me know if interested.

another recommendation for Ninja Castle.  I reckon 90% of my PC engine buys are between them and Hit Japan.
