@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

How many copies of Keith Courage do you own?

I've only been collecting for a couple of months, but already I've managed to obtain 6 extra copies of Keith Courage.  Most times, the seller I'm trying to procure games from has a copy included in the bundle he or she is selling.  Want these 6 games?  Alright, but you get another copy of Keith Courage.  It's a throw away or freebie game to most.

So two questions:

1) How many copies of Keith Courage do you have in your collection?
2) What the heck do you do with them or have you done with them?

I've been thinking of making a clock with a Keith Courage TurboChip replacing each of the numbers.  The 3, 6, 9, 12 would be face up and the rest would be face down.  Here's an example of the clock hands that could be used:

Bernie

I have two.  One I bought to play, and one that came with the TG-16 I bought that stays boxed.

Sadler

One. In general dupes get raffled off here when I have them. I don't know if I've ever had any Keith Courage dupes though. The reason why I had most of my dupes was because I wanted cases to put my caseless games in with Sparky stickers, but the Keith Courage cases I've run across tend to be pretty damaged.

roflmao

I remember back in the dinosaur ages of the Turbo Mailing List there was a guy who was trying to collect enough Keith Courages to wallpaper one of the walls in his house with them.  I think he literally had hundreds of loose Keith Courages. I don't know if he ever did it though.

EDIT: I only have one copy.

Nazi NecroPhile

I think I have three or four copies, but sadly nary a one with the comic.  One day I'll get around to raffling off the extras, along with the other handful of dupes.

DragonmasterDan

I have at least two, I've gutted the cases on them before to use with TTI games that didn't come with proper cases.

Lilgrafx

I have two, one loose and one in the case. I used to have 3 but I threw one in as a freebie when I was a little late on shipping. I don't really see a point in raffling because almost everyone has a copy.

fraggore

I got one so far for the TG16 i am expecting more just started collecting after not owning a pc engine for a fair wile loving it.
I always wanted a thing called tuna sashemie

"All your base are belong to us"

hoobs88

I had about 7 copies of KC but I think i am down to 5 after including 2 of them in system/game lots that I sold.

I had about 6 and now I'm down to 1. Yeah every time I bought a lot there was at least 1 in there.....
I just save them for n00bs as freebies or throw them in other game lots I'm selling. Gotta pass around the Keith love!

NightWolve

I thought I lost mine and was gonna ask someone to buy a copy, but I just looked a little more thoroughly and found that it was in my CD case after all (along with the lame comic book, too).

BigusSchmuck

I got one and ones enough. :P However, I could have bought it at this game store for $1 with the lame comic and manual...

Sparky

I have only 1......

BUT lets take all our spares and i will send each of you Magical Chase hu card stickers to go on the face of them, then will put them on ebay and sell to each other and lower the price of MC... THE END :) :)
there is a sticker behind every solution :P

Samurai Ghost

Zero.

But I only have one US TG16 game and that is Bonk's Revenge. Have a couple copes of the PCE version though.

TheClash603

I have one extra Keith Courage.  I almost have put it in as a freebie on several orders, but I almost think a loose Keith Courage is a slap in the face.

No comic here though.

I love this idea.  Saturate the market with Magical Chase hu cards.  Ha!

kiketonto

Only one copy. And had to say there is difficult to find under 30$ here. But the market in SPAIN it's different.
On the other hand, everybody has BLAZING LAZERS.
By the way: I have not the comic.

$30 dollars for a KC is crazy! I'd hate to see what a rare game would go for.

Wow!  Really?  So I'm holding $180 in my hands?  Sweet.  Let me know if you want me to ship you a copy kiketonto.  I'll sell them to you for $15 a pop and you can resell them for $30. ;)

I only have one... guess I'm not as courageous as some of you.

Keith Courage

I have about 12 copies on hand right now. They are all loose and I use them for testing out systems when I work on them.

The rare ones did not come to my country. Has a bad distribution and less promotion at the time.
Only a few games was sold here (J.J.&Jeff, Blazing Lazers,Dungeon Explorer,etc....the commons) but I ever see a copy of Keith Courage at shops. Magical Chase neither.  :-"

The difficult is to sell it. Few people have (and less cherish) this system here.
But what you propose to me....it's SPECULATION  [-X
I never sell my games. Always look for trade. Thank you anyway for your interest in y pocket!  =P~

Looks like we have a new leader.  I'm editing the first post and creating a leaderboard.  Anyone with more than 1 copy will be added.  :)

I'll take one from ya. Just to say that I have one and I actually kinda like the game, in a Momo/nostalgia sorta way. How much ya want for it?

Lilgrafx

Keith Courage better have the most copies, it's his own game

grimm

I take it Keith Courage must be percieved as a pretty bad game then?

blueraven

blueraven

I should say that many of them were thrown in when I received a broken system, or they were given to me by friends when they cleaned out their basement. I actually bought one for $5 at a used record store recently.

FiftyQuid

That's good enough for 4th place in my leaderboard.  Post #1 updated.

No, I think the consensus is that it's a pretty mediocre platformer that gets a bad rap because people are critical of pack-in game. The reason people have so many is because it was packed in with a lot of the systems in the US so there every where.

Oh ok. I figured it was a pack-in game after doing a little research, but i never got an impression of what people actually thought of the game itself. Sometimes games get a bad rap because people just want to give it just that. Sometimes "bad" games are, like you said, not actually bad. Just mediocre, or lesser than expected. Then they magically suck and everyone hates them.

Nando

It's an ok platformer, but not up there with mario or sonic.

FiftyQuid

Bonk should have been the platformer mascot right from the start, but for some reason Keith was given the job.  Keith is good, but as a mascot he was doom to failure when competing with Mario and Sonic.

I have a loose Wataru that I only got last year. I don't usually buy loose games, but I didn't know it was loose when I bought it. I think it was less than a dollar.

I want to get rid of it and get one with a case.

I do not have any, wish I did, you never know how much you miss something until you do not have it anymore.

incrediblehark

I always thought of Keith Courage as being closer to a wonder boy title than comparable to mario or sonic, and I actually like the game. only 1 copy for me

BigusSchmuck

Bonga7

I have one copy and its sealed.  I remember this game came with the TG-16 my brother won when he participated in this TG-16 tourney at a mall close to my house.  I don't know what happened to that TG-16 system. I think we gave it away along with the Keith Courage that came with our 1st TG-16 system.
