@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Hehe, np. =)  Just let me know what games you would like to have there.

Later.

jlued686

Team Fremont will be there again hosting the game show on Saturday and the awards ceremony on Sunday.  Hope to see you guys there!

For those of you who can't make it to MGC, maybe you could make it to http://otakuomaha.com/

Kitsunexus

That Otaku Omaha thing actually looks BETTER than Midwest Classic, the only thing interesting me there is the SHMUP tournament.
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.

Hobo Xiphas

Otaku Omaha doesn't have a Marty Goldberg speech, thus it is automatically not as good as MGC.

Also, there is no gay anime crap at the MGC, it is nothing but games.

torgo

At Dan Loosen's request, I will have my PS3 there, and I will have my 32-inch LCD HDTV to hook it up to. Also, I will be bringing the original Fantasy Star Soldier US pressed beta CD for the TG16 Museum.

If we can get wireless Internet working, I have the Warhawk beta for people to try out as well

I was going to bring my TurboExpress, but I'm already bringing my laptop, DS/games, and my PSP and games, so I think I'm leaving my Express at home.

For PS3, I will have 4 controllers, and to play we'll have:
MLB 07: The Show
Resistance: Fall of Man
Motorstorm
NBA Street Homecourt
NBA 2k7
Ridge Racer 7
Virtua Fighter 5 (with 2 Hori Fighting Sticks for the PS3)
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection
Calling All Cars (4-player split-screen)
Championship Sprint (Don't Bother)
Mortal Kombat II Arcade (Awesome)
Gauntlet II
Wipeout (PS1)
Destruction Derby (PS1)
flOw
Q*Bert
Gran Turismo HD
Japanese Hot Shots Golf 5 Demo
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Demo
Formula One Demo
Super Rub a Dub Demo
Japanese Folks Soul demo (Gorgeous)
Warhawk Beta (If we can get an Internet connection)

But isn't bringing a PS3 to a classic gaming con like bringing a pentagram to a Christian church?  :|

When the organizer asks me to bring it, I bring it  :D

Plus, there are some classic games on it.

Good analogy, but I would have gone with, "It's like bringing a BladeRunner spinner to a classic car show."

Maybe he wants to compare its design to the turbo duo

I'm assuming that this has a hand written label or is unlabeled, or did they get far enough along to actually screen print some discs?

MGC supports both new and old gaming systems.  "Classic" can mean a lot of things to those that go there.  To someone like us it might mean Turbo-era, to a kid it could be something like the Dreamcast's Sonic Adventure, or to someone else it could mean an Atari Pong machine.  There's usually something for everyone, which is nice because I like the mix.

There was also a Wii and two networked Xbox 360's in the museum area as well, the latter of which had the Halo 3 beta going for half of the time both days.  I think that one will be a "classic", hehe. ;)

I had a great time again this year at MGC! Met turbo_sage and hogged his PC-FX and SuperGrafx for a while, that was fun. :) Brought home a nice little haul of games, but if I had brought more money I certainly could have spent all of it. There were some dealers there with some really great stuff, both import and domestic. The arcade and pinball selection was okay, although I did get an original owner's manual for my Tron machine. Overall, it was a little bigger and a little better than last year's, so I'm definitely planning on going again next time!

torgo

Yeah, i had a blast once again. Many thanks to Dan Loosen from the GOAT Store for getting this together again. It was great to meet a couple of the PCEngineFX peeps finally.

Also, I FINALLY got a copy of Spriggan! I also picked up a US copy of Air Zonk, so I finally have that as well. I'll be talking about the show on our next podcast episode which should hit on Thursday.

The dealers were better than last year, but the pinball\videos were pretty lacking this year.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Keranu and I made it onto the local Milwaukee news playing Bomberman '94.  You could just see the top of my head in the shot.  8)

Mobius

Damn!  Of course I find out about this two days too late... I definitely would have been there, since it's not far of a drive from Madison.  Is this annual and always in the same place?

Keranu

It has been held in differnet locations before from what I know, but I heard they plan on keeping it in Oconomowoc.

Is Oconowocomomwocowowowonowoc a real place? If I lived there I'd just call it O-town. What a nightmare.

All Wisconsin towns are impossible to pronounce if you aren't from Wisconsin.  I swear it is some sort of conspiracy to keep us Flatlanders away from their state.

Keranu took some pics too and is writing something for Lazer Dorks, but I don't think it is done yet.  The only picture that he put online so far is his awesome picture with Lazer Dorks icon Marty Goldberg.

Keranu

I have everything done for the page except the actual article, which I will hopefully get around to writing soon.

Actually I didn't shave in that photo either, but I came out look really fat for some reason, haha. Marty Goldberg is the coolest guy in the universe, that's all you need to know.

EDIT: Speaking of photos, where is the photo you took of us together, turbo_sage!? I demand you post it now!

You think you look fat, Keranu?! You look skinny as all hell.

GUTS

It's because you have an XXXXL shirt on.  You bought a fat guy shirt by mistake, fat guy shirts make anybody look fat, even swahili kids.

Keranu

Actually that shirt seemed pretty small compared to my other shirts. I do love that shirt though, especially since it glows in the dark (like 25% of my shirts in my wardrobe.

sorry guys,  I know I wanted to get those up asap, but I've run into a few road blocks.  One- we just moved and we're wasting all our free time unpacking/ sorting and all that horse poop.  Two- I have literally been without high speed for almost a whole month!  <-- thats the kicker.  Three- I'm working way too damn much. Which is cool- pocketbook/ experience wise- but sux free time wise.

I'm working on doing a video montage using some pix and vids I recorded from the ever so awesome event!!  So hang tite for that.

I'll get links up as soon as I post these pix and vids.

"Ok, spartan!  Hang on just a little while longer!"

Thanks for the comments! I really thought I wimped out on this year's article too.

As far as PCEFX folks, here are the ones I can think of:

turbo_sage, me (Keranu), torgo, TJ (lots of T names in here, eh!?), jleud.

There was also DHG Hunter and martyg who have posted here before briefly, but they help organize the MGC.
