Im looking for a decent case for my hucards. In the back of the PC Denjin (air zonk) booklet there is a picture of a case, it looks to be only a tiny bigger than a hucard. Its kind of what im looking for. Any ideas?

No, but I'd like to see the picture if you'd be so kind.

grahf

I'll try to scan the booklet. Its kinda small to begin with, but should come out ok.

Here's the sport card case I used back in the day-

HuCards are perfectly secure in here with sleeves on. I used to pack this around with my Turbo Express.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

I think dj898 made a case (or, rather, re-purposed an existing case) for HuCards. I think he posted a pic here.

I've never looked, but I'm sure you can find something that will work. For example, try searching for a small case that holds business cards...

Once you find a case that is the right size, you can modify baseball card products to suit your purposes. You can cut an 8 1/2" x 11" page into a strip or two. Each strip will hold 4 HuCards. Then you can fold the strips (accordian style) and stuff them into the case. No, this won't be the sexiest looking case...

I'm sure other folks can offer even better ideas :)

You can buy 4 sportcard pages and binders. This is how I store all my HuCards.

Holy hucard collection batman! Thanks for the good ideas everyone. The baseball card binder looks like just the thing for keeping them at home. Im still trying to find a small case that holds maybe 5 cards for the road. I just picked up a Turbo Express which im going to region mod asap :D

pixeljunkie

also, PCMCIA card cases fit HuCards like a glove!

It works great, I use the sheets that hold 9.

No it was the promo item. Think of CD album in the size of CD jewel case and half of it is for CD-ROM disc and the other half is for Hucard with what looks like trading cards holding pockets... ^ ^

I store my HuCards in special folders designed to hold PhoneCards. They are not really known in the US, but back in France (my native country), the phone card collector market is quite big, and those folders are easy to find. Here is a pic I took a couple of years ago...

YES! just tried this when i got home from work. A PCMCIA card case i have fits 2 hucards like it was designed for them. One or two of these cases will do PERFECTLY for what i need.

Im also now planning on picking up one of the smaller 4-card-per-page sports card binders for my loose cards. I dont have the badass collection some of you guys do, so that will be perfect for now.

grahf

Finally got around to scanning the PC Denjin booklet. I would love to get ahold of one of these cases.

Cozzie, when are you gonna post more pics of the neat stuff you have?

For the record, that looks like a wallet to me... am I wrong? Business-card holders can hold HuCards, so...

cozzie

Hi Steve,
Yes it is a wallet but it has case inside for about nine hu-cards.
You can check alot of my collection here but it needs to be updated as I bought quite a bit more stuff and I have also completed my Limited edition Sega Dreamcast collection.

grahf

Cozzie, do you want to sell that? :D

The actual kana in yellow says:
HA-DO-SHI-N [kanji kanji],   ie: Hudson . .
KA--DO KE--SU   ie: card case

Which isnt to say its not a wallet also, but i'd have to say its a hucard case foremost :)

cozzie

Sorry friend I only have one and they are hard to come by even in Japan.
If I get another you will be the first to know.

cozzie

It is more of a wallet than a Hucard case as it has a little pocket inside with a zipper to keep small change in.

hmmm heheh *cough*

don't you have any credit card holders that you can use ??

This is an oyster card (monthly/yearly public transport card) holder we use here in London.. it can hold about 3 cards.  although I would never hold my HUcards in that XD

I know, I suggested this in my first post, but nobody followed up on it (until your post). Now, unlike your pictures, I would have inserted the HuCards the opposite way (to prevent my grubby fingers touching the pins, but that's just me :) ).

Anyway, I think I found a really nice balance between HUGE binders (inconvenient to lug around) and mini-cases (that only hold a handful): re-cycle that old Day-Runner (or its generic "Planner" equivalent) that you don't use anymore. They're perfect: waterproof and padded over a hard shell binder. Zip it up and don't worry if you drop it -- they take tons of abuse.  I was packing up all my PCE stuff a few days ago and I needed a place for my loose HuCards (Tricky Kick is included in the photos to indicate scale):

The business-card / credit card plastic sleeves fit the HuCards snugly, so you don't have worry about them sliding out, BUT don't expect to cram a Populous, SFII', or Tennenoke Bank in one of them (you can put over-sized HuCards in the "zippered" bag that comes standard. I am going to purchase another pack (or two) of these plastic sheets so I can carry an even larger selection of games to my friends'. 5 sheets = 15 games, and this case can easilly hold 45 games, I reckon.

You might be able to find old Day-Planners at the thrift shop, so I'd check it out. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay a few dollars for extra plastic sleeves (although they are pretty standard).

Odonadon

This just came to mind - I don't suppose you have access to the plastic casing that normally encases the instruction card for an RSA SecurID token?  They're perfect size as well, though just a relatively thin layer of plastic.

cozzie

I also have one of these which are quite rare I think they where given away with Pc engine fan magazine in Japan.

That's HA-DO-SO-N, not HA-DO-SHI-N (A 'SHI' has two downward strokes)

grahf

I wont argue that one with you, im lucky i remember any kana at all!

And wow that PC Engine magazine case is badass. Little big for my purpose, but i wouldnt mind having one for home storage.

Keranu

I don't know how I missed this thread lately, but damn all of these HuCard holders people have posted are nice! I really loved that Bomberman wallet / HuCard holder, I would love to have one :) !

SignOfZeta

There was a HuCard wallet advertised in some US games/systems. I don't remember much about it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same as the Japanese Hudson wallet, but uglier.

I find that incredible funny for some reason. You know what they say, its funny because its true.

Like Pixlejunkie suggested, ive been using a hard PCMCIA case like this one:

IMG

It works great, except it only holds 2 cards. If i could find something that held 3 or 4, i'd be happy. Maybe I can just glue 2 pcmcia cases together :D
