12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

This kind of crap is why I'm not dealing with digital purchases anymore. Even if everything goes well, sooner or latter you'll lose everything.

Totally agree, I have never bought anything digital except on Steam, where if my account or DRM gets borked, I can easily obtain cracks for my games.

At the very least, never give them access to your credit card or bank account and stick to pre-paid gift cards.

I agree I hate the new trend of pay-to-download. It doesn't feel as if you actually own anything after the transaction.

I prefer free to download, and microtransaction shop. Although most people despise this, many games have done it right without creating a pay-to-win environment.

I agree with the basic sentiment here but...Sony. Sony in particular is very incompetent and difficult to deal with. Nintendo and Apple are nowhere near the headache.

Doesn't nintendo tie downloaded games to an individual console though? And they have no user account system either. Seems pretty shit

Nintendo is also a headache (in a different way if you want). If your console breaks you're screwed.

This is how I operate.  It is a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with cards all the time, but I never have to worry about shit like this.

I have a few digital purchases on steam because they were super cheap on sale but I have the hardest time giving up my right to resell.

There's been too many games that don't have physical releases that I've wanted(Brandish, La-Mulana EX) that I can't ignore, so I've kind of gotten used to it, but it still sucks.  Thankfully, that particular Sony service has nothing to do with me, so I won't lose anything.......yet.

They all suck, but as I understand it, if your Nintendo machine breaks AND you send it to them to get fixed, the games will transfer to the replacement machine. Its not as free and easy as Apple's way of doing it, but its not too bad.

The fact that Nintendo's shit is more reliable than Sony and MS makes it less of a problem. If purchases made on a 360 were tied to that 360...we'd have some issues.

I still don't think lizardquad are legit. Millions of new consoles went active on Dec 25th, the infrastructures were just not ready for all those devices going online at the same time. Don't take me wrong dos attacks are still a real threat.

I agree with using "points" cards. And deplete the balance as soon as it is available.

How can you trade in digital games and get 1/10th of the price you paid for it for a new game
