10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

The East Coast Gaming Expo is coming up in about a month (26th-27th) and I was just wondering how many east coasters on this board are going to be attending. They have an info page up at www.ecgxpo.com with some events and other things listed if your curious as to what is going down there. A lot of you are probably going to Otakon, but if any of you happen to be going to this as well give a shout as it would be cool to meet any of you guys.

I got back from the expo on Sunday so I thought I would post impressions of it. It was fairly small to tell the truth but it was packed full with games from just about every system you could want, along with the systems. I saw two TG-16s one was still in the box. I saw one American Duo and a Duo R (which was still in the box).

Most of the games were fairly cheap. I scored a boxed US copy of Cadash for 20 bucks which really made my week, also got a copy of Coryoon but I had to cough up for that one. All in all I got about 10 PCE/TG-16 games. Which included Fatal Fury 2, Kabuki Itouryodan (which is completely awsome), Super Raiden, Galaga 88, a japanese copy of Cotton (so I can put up my US copy), Final Soldier, Shubinbin Man 3, and Fiend Hunter. I bought a few other things but my Duo-Rx got most of the attention.

On a side note I was wondering if its just my copy of Coryoon, but does anyone else's sorta have a split second of lines appearing, and then just disappearing when loading a screen. It fixes itself immeidately and its always in the same spots. The first really noticeable spot is when it loads up the option select screen. I've checked the contacts and they are spotless, that and the fact that its always in the same place makes me think its the game, but I'm hoping someone could verify my suspicion.

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't own Coryoon (you lucky bastard), but there are a bunch of games that do stuff as you've described (i.e I've seen the screen full of grids just prior to the title screen... I always assumed it was something the programmers did intentionally). 15 years later and these games are still working fine :)

I have Coryoon as well and i've notice the same problem as well.

I wasn't sure if it was normal to begin with  :?
