@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

I never did an intro for myself when I joined as I was still becoming familiar with the site. I mostly and quickly went straight to the repair mod section of the forums as my Duo has a few issues that I am going to be fixing shortly.

Some of you may have seen some of my posts, hopefully I am not to annoying yet and not coming off as a leach. But, Galam has already sent me Buster Bro's a short while ago... new member raffle... And I am trying to become a part of the community here.

Some background...

I have had a TurboGrafx-16 since 1990 I think we got it about 6months to a year after the initial release of the console. I think I was around 14yrs old at the time. My dad is a huge video game player, even to this day, and he would always buy games at random times. It didn't have to be a birthday or holiday.

We didn't have many TG-16 games early on as my dad seemed to enjoy the genesis a bit more. But, I remember when the Duo came out.... My birthday is close to xmas so that year for xmas I asked my dad if I could get one for my b-day and xmas. He did and I was really happy. To my surprise he even had a segacd the first version of it. It was an amazing xmas that year.

Anyways... as time moved on I got a job and started buying as many games as I could for the system around the years of 1994 - 1997. After that I really didn't do much. I played and beat most of the games I had. They eventually went into a box at my dads house under the stairs for storage. Fast forward to now 20 some years later, I dug out my Duo and I am still enjoying the games I have and so is my fiance.

Out of all my consoles this is the console that has stood the test of time for me. I am glad to be a part of this community and glad I was not shunned or should I say jumping right to the for sale section and saying WTB all games, I have two kidneys willing to sell one of them. :)

Welcome to PCEnginefx!

So what games do you have, and which ones are your favorites?

Well, I have a good chunk of games for this system. Most of them I had from back when they came out but I recently bought a few here on the forums. A couple I wanted to play but never did and a couple I thought my fiance would enjoy.

I attached a list of games I own in .doc format. As I count it I own 64 of the games for this console. Maybe more if you count the 3n1 cd as 4 games instead of 1.

I prefer old school RPG's over other types of games usually. So my favorites on this system are:

Neutopia 1 & 2
Cosmic Fantasy 2
Dungeon Exporer 1 & 2
Y's 1 - 3
Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes

Beyond those games I spent most of my time playing
Exile: Wicked Phenomenon  .... Bought Exile a week or two ago and am playing through it now. I get side tracked though and havn't played it in like a week now.

Cadash, Order of the Griffon, and especially Super Star Soldier and Gate of Thunder.

There was a time around when I was 18'ish.... Where I was drunk and prolly high, at one of the parties at my place where I played through Gate of Thunder and beat it without dying.

The rest of the games I most likely beat at one time or another but these are the must haves for me.

Since you love Ys 1-3, you gotta get yourself a copy of Ys IV with the translation patch.

I saw that Y's 4 thread... I downloaded the video and text patch. But I have never done the .toc editing before. I do have the Y's 4 bin/cue I just need to do the actual burn.

The only comp I have with a optical drive in it is my HTPC and it runs Linux so for me it's just a matter of reading some instructions hopefully and just getting it done with whatever software I decide to use. I am hoping K3B will do the job but not sure if there is anything special I need to do yet for it.

Y's 3 seemed a bit choppy in the movement but it's a Y's game, you know? I have all the Y's games on steam as well. I only finished the first one so far on it. Figured at some point I would get to the others. It just feels weird playing on a PS4 controller on the old school games. I so enjoy the rapid fire switches on the default NEC controllers.
