Decided to do something with my Lego Mosaics

They are 16x16 so I had to do something small, but even after overcoming that issue the real problem is the lack and amount of specific colors.  I need to get some flesh tone pieces from Lego's pick a brick store to really get it right!  Trying to also find something I can do with my other 16x16 mosaic back, has to be something really small like an icon or graphic from a status bar, a powerup or other item, or you tell me!  I was going to do Bomberman but I ran out of colors for that too.  If I find the right thing I will put in an order for more bricks.

Rather than checking LEGO stores and spending $8 or $16 for a cup of bricks, have you looked at bricklink?  Presently I don't have anything in my store there but there are hundreds of users with stores carrying new and old sets and parts.

When you see what you need that exists in the color you want, you can create want list to compile a complete shopping list, then use search by store to find store that has most of what you need. You can specify if you want to search only those on your country (ie USA only), on your contenient (North America or Europe) or worldwide so if you can find stores with most of what you need in the same country you  live in, shipping will be a lot cheaper than buying across the sea.

Cute!  For suggestions, the only small, iconic sprite I can think of at the moment is a Bonk smiley.

I just instructed my children to construct my headstone using Lego bricks...ugggghhhhhh... I requested a pixelated Princess Za + Bonk + Moonland Lego mural .....

Yeah, I've seen that site around, it seems like the colors I really want to match aren't available officially anymore.  Not that serious into Lego anymore like when I was a kid, but bought this mosaic kit a couple years back and recently pulled it out of storage.  Ran into the same problem of 16x16 resolution being pretty small as well as the lack and variety of colors that it came with.  Will check out that site though.

Pretty cool!  While I enjoyed looking at the mosaic, I also enjoyed the other goodies on the shelves. 
Xbox, Wii, WiiU, Sega CD, Saturn, Master System, Genesis, PC, and of course TG16/PCE!

Let's see, we got Perl, PHP, C Programming books, some Unix, etc. Did you ever read 'em all ?? I used to buy them thinking it'd help for my jobs, but they wound up just sitting around and most learning was forced on-the-fly from the Internet or others. ;) I have found my Intel x86 Assembly book still useful in recent years though.

Did my stint as a Linux (and Irix) Sysadmin and mostly just used them to reference certain things now and then, especially the DNS/Bind since I worked for a webhost during the dotcom boom.  Sitting on top of those and unpictured is my O'Reilly Vi Editor pocket reference!  I had a little bit of a fetish for collecting O'Reilly books back in the 90's.  My programming skills are pretty weaksauce but I have always been interested in learning aspects of programming ever since C-64 Basic and the Qbasic days.  Quite of a few of those books I have rescued from friends or elsewhere because I just enjoy technology books in general.  I got this amazing Doozy when we cleaned out my Grandma's house not too long ago, check it out:

Yeah, I was talking about these kits.  You can of course link them together or even get larger backplates officially to do more resolute pieces, but I like the 16x16 ones, they fit nicely at CD jewel case height on my shelf.  Google the term lego mosaic to see some crazy huge and detailed pieces that have been made by others.

The largest single plate goes to 48x48 but with little work, you can use multiples to make larger mosaic.
