@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

I go to Player 1 Videogames all the time especially since its 10 min from work...
Mike the owner is very nice and is willing to give discounts, I have been going there since he opened in 2010.
Prices are below ebay too which is nice....too many people charging to much for retro games...TG-16 especially..

Wow, nice!  Good to know there's somewhere else now besides Software Seconds.  That place went to shit.  I'll check it out next time I'm in town.  Is it in that plaza where the Outback and Olive Garden are or across the street by the Rushes?  Mmmmm...rushes.... =P~

UPDATE: I am going to see if the drunkards on the other side of the lake (somewhere in Maine)  are selling any old video games to buy more beer. I'm traveling by canoe, so I'll report back by tomorrow.

Check out any and all Disk Replays in your area.  I'e found some good Turbo stuff at the Disk Replay in Mishawaka - 5916 Grape Road, (574) 273-5800.  They have had a Turbo Booster Plus, a complete TG-16 CD breifcase setup, and some boxed TG-16 games before as well as some loosies and some CIC games.  I also filled out my SNES library with over 100 titles as well.  You can always call them first before you drive over there.

Also, I hope that you can come to VGS this weekend.

Hoosier

Thanks, I'll definitely check them out. Wish I could go to VGS this weekend, but I doubt I'll be able to make it due to work.  I appreciate the help!

My brother use to go to college in the area, Generally they didn't have a big selection of turbo, and if they did they liked to sell it quickly as a bundle. but that was about a year ago, perhaps someone else has more insight to recent activity.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Ok thanks. I think I'll check it out today and will post what the selection of games are and if there are reasonable prices.

thanks

Yea Sudden Impact didn't have anything turbo related. He said it sells as quick as it comes in. The owner is a nice guy though and gives very good store credit on all things nintendo. A lot of the stuff is around market value too so it seems to be a lot better than most retail retro stores.

bob

I was at Sudden Impact about a year and a half ago.
I sold him a bunch of SNES stuff.  If he still has a gem mint chrono trigger all complete, that was probably mine.  Along with excellent Super Metroid, Vania IV, Zelda, and many others.  He paid well, but it took a bit of haggling.  Gave we a stupid lowball at first and I got him up to where he should be.
He was way high priced on everything, so hopefully he has come down to earth by now.  Only turbo stuff he had when I was there were about a dozen "orange label" commons.

I say out of the four retro gaming stores I went to in Portland Oregon only one had any turbo games and they were super over priced. Retro Game Trader. They did have a few rare titles (Panzer Dragoon Saga complete for $350 and 3 grand for a loose magical chase) but good Lord did they have a lot of Sega stuff.

I've seen some Turbo stuff from time to time at Disc Replays in the Chicagoland area. Even in the south suburbs too. There is a location in Orland Park, Joliet, and Bolingbrook. I've seen Turbo games or sometimes system at all of those locations at some point. That's not to say they will always have stuff but I figure it is always worth a shot if any of you are traveling through that area.

Anybody notice that there are no New york stores on this list? Does anyone know of any?

How ironic that I just went to VideoGamesNewYork on Friday.  It is about a 15 minute walk from Union Square, or you can get off the R at 8th St. if you are making a trip specifically for the store.

https://www.videogamesnewyork.com/the_store

I had heard of the store and I finally decided to stop by because I had a few hours to kill waiting for a flight.  I would say that since it was in NYC, the prices were actually kind of fair.  Of course, as with most stores, they ranged from deals (some DS games) to absurd (most consoles), but you just need to pick out the deals.

There was a decent little TG16/PCE selection.  Their pricey game was a CIB Bonk 3 for $299, but there were a lot of more reasonably priced more common games.

I bought a Pokémon Soul Silver and Henry Hatsworth for DS when I was there, nothing too exciting.  However, the store is quite cramped and I thought that Hatsworth was $5, when in fact it was $15...  my poor eyesight and inability to contort my body leading to the confusion.  Store worker was cool in that he offered the game to me for $10.

I'll stop by again if I have more free time next time I am in NYC for work.

madboom0522

Alright the city is over 2 hours from me and selection is very limited. It would seem that trying to finish the games for this system is like pokemon gotta cathc them all!

You in the Binghamton area?

There is a pretty solid flea market over there.  Also, I cant remember the name but there is a pretty solid retro store downtown that actually has a bunch of arcade machines too.  A quick Google search should pull it up, as long as it hasn't closed in the last 2 years.

TG16 stuff...  not the easiest to find in the area though, so you are correct the wild hunt will be tough.

Game Changers in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Address is 451 N Park Street Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI.

This is a newer store and one of the coolest game stores that I've ever been in.  I had a conference in Grand Rapids this past October and stopped in to see what the store was like.  They had a limited Turbografx collection, but the pricing is very fair.

It's been a year since I've been to Game Trade, but I'm sure they have Turbo stuff.

And if you're ever close enough to that store to want to check it out, shoot me a pm!  I work about 3 miles from there. :)
