12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

This is one of the many reasons why Tengai Makyou kicks everything's ass and PCE CD games rule the RPG genre. 8)
I'd post the Okuni tattoo scene from Kabukiden, but I still haven't gotten around to killing Sangue in my current play through(an all cinema video is coming soon)...

Seriously, if you like RPGs and aren't faint of heart there's no reason to not play through both TMII and Kabukiden asap.  [-X
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

I REALLY need to play through those two. I own all the TM games, but only dedicated a few hours to each thus far.

Ninja Spirit

If I can get the menus and battle menu's translated in Fuun Kabuki Den and Zero (SFC), I'll be good to go.

GUTS

Wow that was really cool, the graphics are damn good also.

TR0N

Wish there was a fans translation of the serise.

Still i guess that would be a huge task given the amount of text in it.

Hmmm one, of these days i'll pick them up any ways and... use a walk through to play them.

"The one good thing about jpn rpgs" is there dirt cheap becuse of the language barrier.

I prefer playing RPGs I can understand.  That video is just two anime characters shouting at each other in Japanese (hardly impressive) and throwing around a bit of gore.  They can't even match the mouth animations to the voices.  Nothing in that video really has anything to do with the RPG genre, except that RPGs usually have anime cutscenes (which are a dime a dozen back in those days).

RPG dominance is not claimed... not by that video.

Although TMII doesn't have perfect voice syncing(like Kabukiden), that video's audio was way off.

That cinema was just the icing on the cake, since most of the TM/FEOE RPG's are great games in the first place.

What helps elevate them further, besides the great chartacter design, music, etc... is the fact that anime cutscenes actually weren't a dime a dozen back then, outside of the PC Engine CD format(hence TM + PCE = RPG D).

And instead of just throwing in a bunch of short cinemas of girls eating rice cakes, TM/FEOE games actually use the cinemas to move the story and feature some pretty graphic stuff compared to most RPG's back in those days.

While I was playing Kabukiden, snerds were weaping because the water in Doma castle color cycled to purple.

I appreciate how the cutscenes likely move the story along, but if I can't understand what the hell is going on in the first place, they kind of lose their intended effect, kna mean?

termis

Well, if I saw that in '92, I'd be pretty impressed.

I also need to play through these.  But I only have TM2 & Kabukiden and kinda wanna start from Ziria just to get the timeline correctly...

Leave doma castle out of this, have you no heart!?

I want those three minutes of my life back. :(
