I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

They do pop up on eBay pretty regularly. And you won't necessarily get ripped off; I bought mine for $34.00, and it had the manual. I don't think it ever came with a jewel box, though. I think all the '92 and newer games came with the vacu-formed plastic tray.
As far as *with* the outer cardboard box, well...you may have to wait longer on that one.

nectarsis

I would be happy with a complete, card/case/manual...only ones i ever find on Evilbay are card only (one complete with "stained" manual)...or assinine prices   :(

Yeah. There's some cheap Japanese versions, but the North American releases are terribly over priced.  [-X But I'm sure a reasonably priced one will pop up.

A few months ago there was a hidden stock of games that went up all from the same seller. No one seemed to know about it. I was going to nab the Neutopia games, but I could only shell out for a few. But everyone who bid on the games made out like criminals. hehe. All games were w/card and manual. I think I paid 12 bucks each, give or take, for Dungeon Explorer, Raiden and Galaga 90. No one paid much more than that on the other auctions. Some people only paid 5 bucks for games. lol. Though Neutopia and Neutopia II were a little higher. Closer to 20 bucks. I didn't want to get into a bidding war over it and jack the price up and end up not buying it. I'd rather have the bidder get a good deal.

But just wait around. Those things pop up once in a while.

Sounds like greatdeal+tehbestselectionBay was the way to go. =D>

last time I looked, I only found 1 copy of Sol for$60 from HK  :)

I see the US version of Neutopia 2 complete with cardboardbox, tray, manual and hucard with slipcase going for around $60. I'm sure it can be found for cheaper, but that is what I've seen it go for complete.

Dang! I should have made a bigger fight of that "hidden" auction. Neutopia and Neutopia 2 went for about 20 bucks each (w/case and manual).  ](*,)

patience is a virture in this world for sure.  these games were all printed / pressed in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, right? ?    there are plenty to go around - just keep hunting (level headed).

Hey,
I think..I have an extra copy i believe that does have the manual in a generic CD case, if i remember correctly.  I'd have to go dig through my turbo games.  I'd be looking to trade do you have a trade list of any sort,  I was on a furious quest to get complete copies of all the US games a while back, and i really think there is only 30 or so games i don't have in some form w/ some being the big ones that wouldn't even be in a trade discussion.  So my question before i look would be what do you have to trade, nothing has to be complete i just have to check if i indeed do still have the game, and what games i am missing.
Thanks
MP

that one ended already. Besides, he said he wanted it boxed. I do like the price difference though, haha. I guess you have to pay if you want that cardboard box.

Also that copy didn't even come in the Turbografx game case. The manual was just put into a CD case. Not a big deal, but it's nice to at least have the proper case.

Neutopia II never had a 'proper' case, but feel free to spend an extra $50 for the cardboard box and plastic tray.

TTi tried to save a few pennies and released the later games without a normal case; instead substituting a cheap, little plastic tray to keep the HuCard from sliding around in the box.

It's amazing; they're willing to spend all kinds of dough on a lame marketing campaign (i.e. Johnny Turbo), but won't give loyal customers proper cases.  ](*,)

They really were hopeless here in North America.  [-(

No doubt.  It probably would've been nearly as cost effective to eliminate the box entirely and use shrink wrapped Japanese style cases, and nobody in their right minds would prefer a cardboard box over a decent case.

That's too expensive.  I'd wait for a deal more like this one.
That auction has Neutopia II in a jewel case. Just to make sure, N2 didn't have a jewel case but just a cardboard box right? Still nice that he throws in a jewel case anyways for neatness and support.
Quote from: TurboXray on 01/02/2014, 09:21 PMAdding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Yeah N2 was post-jewel-case-era.

although, all my Turbo games end up in jewel cases whether they originally had one or not. I'll print out clean spine labels for them, too, and I try to match the font I use to the font used for the game title on the manual.
