Taito actually makes good games!

Wow. I picked up Taito Legends 1 & 2 on Friday, and before that, Taito was only OK to me. Sure, they made the Bubble Bobble series, Darius, NinjaWarriors, etc and OF COURSE Space Invaders... but I was of the opinion that these were their only standout games.

Boy was I wrong. I beat Space Invaders '95 and RAPED Cameltry (which is actually kinda better on the SNES) and damn are there EVER more cool games.

I didn't know Cacoma Knight In Bizyland was a rip-off of Volfied/Qix, Volfied has been taking up a lot of my time as has been Space Gun (which I have played in arcades before and was blown away then as I am now, that game RULES).

All the F3 system games kick ass, I didn't know it had a Ensoniq soundchip in it! Puchi Carat is hella fun, and Arabian Magic/Dungeon Magic are nigh-PERFECT beat em' ups. Elevator Action II pwns the SHIT out of EA1.

Also, Liquid Kids and Plump Pop are highly weird, but still kept me playing for hours, as well as Zoo Keeper and The New Zealand Story. But why all the fuss over Rainbow Islands? That game isn't that great.

Taito is probably now one of my favorite developers. Hopefully they come out with Taito Legends 3, and hopefully THAT INCLUDES NINJAWARRIORS!!!

best game ever made by taito > Rastan Saga! god i love that game since my childhood. the music, the grafx, the atmosphere..it's a perfect game (beside the slight awkward control). what a shame they did to its sequel, which can call itself one of the worst game, and for very sure, the worst sequel ever!

You mean Nastan Warriors? I found myself enjoying that game, and it's soundtrack.

My bad, it was Nastar Warrior (Rastan backwards for whatever reason) it IS Rastan Saga 2, and I actually like the game.

Liquid Kids is one of the best games, ever. It was a psuedo-spinoff of the Bubble Bobble series. It was supposedly have been named "Bubble Bobble 4" before it finally got released. I was lucky enough to play an actual cab of it back in the '90s in some dirt town in the middle of the desert somewhere in eastern Washington. The Turbo/PCE port is damn good, too. Very close to the arcade.

And yeah, I agree about Rainbow Islands. Parasol Stars (Bubble Bobble 3) is just sooo much better.

OH MY GOLDFISH, THEY MADE A TAITO LEGENDS FOR PSP, AND IT HAS AN ENHANCED VERSION OF CAMELTRY! YAAAAY! I MUST GET THIS!

BTW, I wiped out Cameltry Special Course on Very Hard in 15 minutes. I love that game.

I actually like 2 better, really, but TBH both are great hack and slash games. They pwn Golden Axe, that's for sure.

wow..that's now somelike surprising and quite ununderstable for me, since part one rules so much more in any ways. part 2 shows up with one of the most ugly sprite ever created with human hands. the gameplay sucks and the overall grafx is such uninspiring and miserable dull. this desaster, i can never forgive taito. not just for the bad sequel, but also they decided to bring this fiasko on the PC Engine instead of the superior part 1

Taito does indeed rock. They blessed us recently with some of the very best classic compilations of all time. The 4 Taito Memories packs are so damn awesome I felt like I should've paid double for them! Thunder Fox is fantastic. I love the whole over-the-top one bad mofo with a knife going against hundreds of soliders,tanks, and robots. It's like they ripped the storyline right of the headlines

I never like the second rastan game to me it's a step backwards for the serise.

However for the third game in the serise,Warrior Blade is a better sequel to me.

Warrior Blade is the SHIT, I loved it. I remember being so pumped back when the release lists showed "Warrior Blade" coming out in Japan for the PS2, I even had it pre-ordered. Luckily I found out a couple weeks before release that it was actually that shitty Barbarian game by Titus (thanks to NCS if I remember right, apparently lots of people thought that it was Rastan III.)

Of course Taito makes good games. I just remember that their endings were usually short and disappointing. Arkanoid was one of the best games for the NES. It even came with a paddle controller. When I finally beat that son of a bee the ending was pretty crappy. Oh well. No other game in my NES collection got more replay than that game, so I guess that's what really counts.

Taito rules....OK....ignore The Legend of Kage.

BTW, I thought I would mention for those interested:

Taito Legends 1 - The game emulates the music or streams the music into RAM - you can open the disc and the music is still playing, the entire game is loaded into RAM.

Taito Legends 2 - The music streams from the disc if you open the disc tray the music stops. Most games are loaded into the memory (except for the music) but some games aren't loaded all the way (obviously the loading issue is just for the CD games that were based on the PS1 system like RayForce, G-Darius).

EDIT: Rastan 1 is definitely great, but 2 is definitely better.

Most of the PC-Engine Taito games are great- but two I've picked up recently I'm not particularly fond of- Cloud Master and Kiki Kaikai. They both kind of suck and aren't fun for even a minute. Heavy Unit however- which I picked up last- although being routinely slammed- I enjoy.

Plump Pop is nearly unplayable (at least with a pad)...the piggie thing (ie the ball) always hits something and falls way too fast on a screen that should be more vertical and narrow like Arkanoid.

I am thinking of picking these up today. Taito Legends 1 is $10 and 2 is $20 at EB. I think I may be able to get the second one cheaper somewhere else, but I don't want to spend $5 on gas thus saving that much most likely.

Hell it is worth getting just for Op Wolf, OpThunderbolt and Space Gun. Too many memories playing those gun shooters. I would kill to get arcade perfect ports of T2: Judgment Day and Steel Gunner 2.

It did mostly EB&GS got to carry it and no one else did.

Only the xbox version of Taito Legends 2 did not make it here.
