Does radio shack make A replacement a/c adapter for the turbo grafx cd player?.Not the turbo dou,the stand alone unit.I no got one for the turbo dou from there A few years ago.I was bidding on one on ebay.Of course some shit that probably didn`t even need it,outbid me at the last second. Here`s the specs for it-input: AC 120V 60Hz 24W,output: 11VDC 1.53A.

MurderDate

well if you have the specs why don't you call Radio Shack and find out?

This has been addressed at length in these forums...you can search for them, but here's the long and short of it:

-You don't have to find an adapter with those exact ouptuts (which is great because you probably won't),
-The TG-CD adapter doesn't actually put out 11VDC...it puts out about 15V,
-A 12.0V, 1500mA AC adapter will suit your purposes. (Thanks Nat!)

On the subject, what's wrong with your original AC adapter? Loose plug? No output? Or is it simply missing?
I had one that just died on me, but I was able to cut the hermetically sealed case open and replace the fuse which had blown. Just glue (or electrical tape) it back together, and you're good to go!

But one thing's for sure, though...we all love the Turbo "Dou"!

...just having a lighthearted jab at you, mate. No offense.

No problem... I did a lot of testing on this many years ago. The current part # for a Radio Shack AC equivalent is 273-1775. I found this is the closest match to the actual power requirements of the TG-CD. I used one of these adapters for around 10 years with a TG-CD deck.

Now that deck & AC is in CrackTiger's hands, and still going strong to my knowledge.

Ah the cord was completely severed.Since im not an electrician, was just looking for A replacement.I tried splicing cords back together and it didn`t work. But thanks for the help guys.

The Radio Shack cat. no. 273-1775 adapter is the one I use for my unit. I don't remember if it's tip N or tip Q though...one of those two I believe (probably N). Whatever the case, it works great...this particular item is relatively hard to find down here though, but in the US it's probably easier to find in the stores. I got extremely lucky and managed to get the last one the store had...then didn't see one again in a Radio Shack until six months later.
