10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

MIDI PAC is output only.  It just grabs the audio data before it hits the FM chip and generates
a MIDI Control file to send to a Midi synth module.

(20:45:58) Tatsujin: WARNING! WARNING! A HUGE OBEYANCE "PC ENGINE" IS APPROACHING FAST!

roflmao

My cousin recently returned from a trip to Japan.  When she left I jokingly mentioned on her fb page to pick me up a PC-Engine game while she was out there.

So completely unexpectedly, a package arrived in the mail today from her containing these:

IMG

Clockwise from top-left: Far East of Eden - Kabuki Den, Master of Monsters, Space Harrier, Space Battleship Yamato.  What a pleasantly unexpected surprise!  Aside from Space Harrier these games are very text heavy, so I guess this is a hint that I should give another go at learning the language (at least enough to work the menus!).

Awesome.  I didn't know a US version was released.  I'll have to look into it to see if the menus are the same.  That sure would help a lot! :)

...googling...

Aha, I see they also created Dai Senryaku VII.  I've got that for the Xbox.  Haven't dug into it a whole lot but I picked it up because it sounded a lot like Military Madness, which I love.  Cool!

TheClash603

SuperDeadite, I have 3 nudie LA games, and they are awesome.  Once you fap with the LA power, you'll never be able to go back to youporn.

Your cousin is awesome!  Does she know anything about these games or did she pick 'em based on the cool artwork?

Just based off of the artwork. :)  She had never heard of Space Harrier before, but loved the cover artwork for it!  I don't know exactly how old she is, but I would guess he's roughly about as old as the Space Harrier HuCard is.   Digging through this stuff must have felt like looking through ancient relics for her or something.

That 3D Museum is probably radioactive from the recent disaster.  You should ship it back to it's homeland in order to protect the children.  I volunteer to house the beast.  Please send it to me, otherwise you probably hate children.

But it has no obi.  Probably disintegrated from the radiation.  Actually this copy came from a US seller.  Its kind of interesting... it has 6 pairs of 3d glasses you can punch out and use or apparently you can use the lcd goggles.  I guess you have multiple choices.

Just got Puyo Puyo from Hit-Japan and picked up the second Dune book at a local bookstore.  I loved the first book so I can't wait until I get to this one.  The bookstore also had Gradius III and Thunder Spirits for the SNES for $7 ea and I'm thinking about going back and getting those...

I plan on using that arm to beat off all the Neo-Geo.com forum members that may be present there. Defensively of course.
