I've never cared much for shrinkwrapped games. Any game I acquire is opened, haha.

That Dynastic Hero I jsut picked up was still shrinkwrapped. it didn't appear to be a home-shrink job, and considering the state of the contents (Not a blemish on the disc, manual, or case) it may have been the original shrink. Still, I can't be sure.

Doesn't matter much though, as it felt GOOD to open that game, and then test it on the Turbo Duo, ahha. I even took a few pics of myself ripping off the shrinkwrap.

pcenginefx, if you need some help with the shrinkwrap on any of those titles, let me know! It's probably warping the Magical Chase box! GOTTA STOP THE WARPING!!! RELEASE IT FROM THE PLASTIC CAGE!

Also, what price did you pay for that Magical Chase?

And, sealed Mgical Chase isn't too unheard of. Saw one on ebay about a year ago. And about 2 years ago someone told me they had some Magical Chase games (Not bullshti), but they were $500.00 a piece. That was 2005, not sure if there are anymore of those around or if he found buyers for them all.

On the other hand, sealed Bonk 3 Hucard.... I haven't seen or heard of any of those lately.

Yes, the warping!  Funny that you mentioned that.  The front of the Magical Chase box is slightly warping inward (not too bad) but the back is like a wave.  I wonder if removing the shrinkwrap will help it?.........hmmm.

As far as the price...  well, believe it or not all of the games were gifts.   :-"

The Raiden box is still in perfect shape inside its plastic cage....but the box is HEAVY!  Must be the 6-megabit HuCard :P

pcenginefx,

I had a feeling they may be gifts. Pretty cool gifts, I sure wouldn't mind Magical Chase as a gift, hah.

Yeah, that Raiden box has the plastic case. Adds extra "oompf" to the package.

Yeah, the warping.... Something with the TTI Hu-Cards. I'm not sure if the boxes warp over the years (Ones with shrinkwrap on them, open at the top or totally sealed) is due to the shrinkwrap, the lack of a case (plastic tray), or a combination of the two. The shrinkwrap on a TTI game and an earlier game is a different quality.

Pretty much all of my TTI boxes I have I've ended up taking all the shrinkwrap off. Most games I open them at the top with a finger nail or blade, and leave most of the shrinkwrap intact. However, the TTI wrap is a bit more "fragile", less stretchy, and if it is slowly crumpling a box, I figure I might as well remove it.

I may post a pic or 2 here soon. I snapped one yesterday, sometime soon I will resize it...

The Duo-R is a recent addition. My Turbo Duo has never gave me any issues, however I'd rather have a cheaper (in price) piece of hardware for the CD games, and give my Turbo Duo more vacation. The Duo-R is pretty nice, feels solid, seems superior to the regular Turbo Duo/PC Engine Duo.

I try to juggle most of these items on this one shelf. I'd have only one NEC system wired up if the Duo-R was modded, so far I've found someone willing to install a region switch, however they won't do the S-Video. I'd rather have both mods done at once, when that happens the TG will be placed in a rental case for transport, which happens from time to time. For now, the 2 stack pretty well since the TG-16 has a Turbo Booster attached.

The other items in the pic:

- The Genesis fits in there nicely. It's a good fit. I may attempt to squeeze a JVC X'Eye in there... I have a Sega CD for the Genesis, however I don't use the Sega CD often, so it sits in storage. Plus it uses two power supplies (gen and CD), X'Eye and such only use 1. Space is an issue since I want to keep this type of stuff confined to a single shelf.

- The other item in the back is the "Gameboy Cube", since those are the only games it is there for.

I watch that video of yours last week.

Not a bad collection either doesn't matter if it small any ways.

To me a collection is about qaulity not quantity.

If i've said that befor, sorry it's just how i feel about it when collecting games to play.

After seeing those tokkofuku pics, I gotta try it out.   Being a motorcyclist and all, I always got a kick out the bosozoku culture in Japan (Not that I condone it - I just find it humorous).  Plus, I love beat 'em ups!

I agree, although I do find myself taking chances on some games as they are so cheap. It is possible to amass a decent sized collection (with a few stinkers) for little money.

Kool. Tell me about them! Where were they manufactured, were they made well, are they hard to find, etc. etc.

I'd love to get one of those pads, but I fear they command a high price.
IMGIMG IMG  |  IMG  |  IMG IMG

Well, as far as I can remember, they were made in France. They were pretty cheap because Sodipeng was a rather small company so they couldn't afford to produce top class controllers.
A few years ago, it was easy to find bargained sodipads in french shops for a very decent price. It's not something rare nor very looked for. I know a bunch of guies who bought 20 at a time so maybe they still have some to sell, if you wish.

Nice to know there others that share my view on that.

Dunno why it puzzle me to see, TG16/PCE collectors who are obsessed with getting every game made for the system.

Even if the title is crappy they must have it at all cost.

I never see the point of having those titles either if there gonna collect dust.

While i'm sure i won't reach 100+ befor i'm done at least, i know i've collected the games that i'll be playing in the future still.

Just a while ago i made some cut backs for my saturn collection.

I saw some games i got for the collection that i didn't even bother to play.

Afther that i sold them.

Well, I agree, too. But when you can get crappy games for less than one buck, why not buy it?
I may have a lot of games but I played 95% of them, even "crappy" ones.

All of a sudden there's now an area in my brain causing me to think that my collection feels empty without a Soldier game.

Some games do turn out to be worth a punt on. L-Dis, although not the greatest, is still quite good and was really cheap.

Quote from: shubibiman on 05/06/2007, 04:31 AMWell, as far as I can remember, they were made in France.
I would certainly be interested in a pad, especially a boxed one... but even a loose pad would be neat. It would be a novelty item for me :).

L-Dis is a pretty decent horizontal shooter.  Crisp graphics, but nothing that knocks your socks off.  If you have an affinity for the PCE and Turbo, it's a very available and affordable title.  If your only into the Turbo/PCE for the retro experience, you may not appreciate it much.

With out a SOLDIER game, you're just a fan...   :D

Heh if you enjoy those game fine i guess.

As for me i don't wanna have some buyers regret when i know, there are better games for the system.

Here's my collection.  Most of the CD games (including Sapphire) have their spine cards.  I also like to keep my games in the nice resealable bags that most stores in Japan use, which is why there are price tags and labels on about half of them.

Nice collection a you got there nothing wrong with a, Coregrafx+SCDR2 either as your setup.

Mine is for, backup use of corse in case some thing happens to my Duo-R.

That is a shame your original collection was stolen.

As "NinjaSpirit mention" that is odd most of time it's the console that's current that get's stolen.

Hmm maybe the crook knew the value of a.... TG16/PCE becuse of value it go's for on ebay and at other sites.

You bastard!

How much did you pay for that and where did you find it? I've been trying to find that forever.

Yay, I finally have something I can post in this thread. :D

First off, my beloved beastie, which I proudly repaired less than a week ago:

nodtveidt.net/my-machine.jpg

Just a region-modded TG16 deck with a TG-CD setup and an Arcade Card Pro.

Now, the softs...

nodtveidt.net/my-collection.jpg

These are all the legitimate games I own. Note the three CDRs in the pic...the first is a prototype of Mysterious Song, the second is a game I'm working on for my independent adult label, and the third is a prototype of our secret project...I've intentionally blurred out the name just to be annoying. :D There is presently no burned prototype of Neutopia III. Once these games are released, I wonder how much people would be willing to pay to own these unique prototype discs... ;)

2 Duos! One for modding, or as a spare?

What was modded ont eh TG-16?

Nice selection there, I don't see that 6 button Hori pad much.

Reminds me, I'd very much enjoy locating a Hori 6 button PC Engine Stick, or the 6 Button Stick by Innovation. They don't turn up for sale often.

What's with all the white plastic (trash bags?) on the table?
"Damnit, Beavis, put that away. You're not supposed to have your _____ out when you're cooking".

hahaha,i had written a long post at first explaing every detail but thought to myself no one wants to know the history of every item. But the duo on the left is my original and second the dumpster find from a few years ago. The tg-16 in the cd unit is modded to jap region so i can use the arcade card in it. If i find a switch il install it. The bags are there to add a light background cause my room is very dark and the camera very cheap. Thats with the sun coming inside the window and still the pictures are dark.

nat, the picture is mtimeless that way. If we saw what they were actually loading, it would be horribly dated (e.g. an Information Society album... or Fighting Street, either way, it just wouldn't stand the test of time).

TG-CD is timeless, of course. :)
