Final Match Tennis questions

I was delighted to fire up Final Match Tennis and find it was supremely playable. But there's all these funny squiggles on the player option page. A friend of mine suggests that it's Japanese or something. Whatever it is, I can't read it, so I'm wondering how I can change the skill level of the computer opponents. Does anyone else know what the hardest/easiest players are?

Final Match Tennis is one of the best tennis games on any system in my opinion. Each player has different styles of play, but there is a code to change the computer difficulty level if you want. Hold Select + II, then press Right ten times, Left four times at the title screen. Enjoy!
