12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I'm new to the PCFX thing (just got one last week) and I have some questions...

1) What's the pad's Mode 2? Mode 1 is rapid fire, but mode 2?

2) I know that the PCFX can play photo CDs, but can play video CDs too? At the ncsx.com they have lots of VCDs, listed as PCFX compatible...

3) I think that the "Japanese language" rating of the site pretty confusing. Deep Blue Fleet and Boundary Gate (2 games that I have) are listed as "4". But B.Gate is pretty easy to play and straightforward, even for a japanese RPG. DBF, in other hand, is almost impossible to play without understand all the menus, and it's considered "4" too

Welcome to this forum and I hope you'll enjoy your purchased FX as much as I do.

1.) As far as I know the mode-switch is used very rarely and only certain games support them. Two I know of are Zeroigar and Zenki FX. Zeroigar you get rapid fire and Zenki FX will perform special moves with just one buttonpress.

2.) Till now I've only seen Photo-CDs listed compatible with the FX. Never heard that it could play VCDs also and I doubt that it's able to.

I agree on Boundary Gate, it was pretty easy to play and should be lower.  Maybe the webmaster could take some input and revise some of the language ratings?

Good idea. And more questions to the FAQ too, maybe ;)

One more question: I was looking at the pics of the System Overview section of the site, and the CD Player screen is a bit different from mine.

That's the CD+G screen, or I have a different revision?

Can someone translate the itens of the CD player, memory management and Photo CD menus?

It could be a valuable info to the FAQ too.
