I don't particularly care what he peddles his goods for, if people are willing to pay x amount, all that is fine with me.  On the other hand, trying to profit off the work of not some random coroporations' out-of-print, no-longer-published game, but off the work of an individual you interact with on a regular basis -- well, that's a different story.

In the end though, what he did still isn't bannable, but he ain't pry gonna have a productive time here with vast majority of the established members here -- He's essentially in a de facto ban status as-is.  He hasn't really contributed anything of note around here since the ordeal, and I'd be shocked if he's still around the forums (in a contributing manner) a few months down the line.

The bragging page was probably useful for rookie or fly-by-night collectors in that it collected a lot of community knowledge in one place.  We had threads discussing the games without jewel cases, the games without boxes, the games with white trays, the sleeves from Working Designs, the French manuals, and the two versions of Champions Forever Boxing a long time ago.  When Roy showed up and bought everything, he asked a lot of questions and sussed out most of this information but not all (like the CG+G demo).  The ebay-style pictures, lack of release dates or publisher info, and the fact that no information was included on anything he didn't own, i.e., reverse taps, the rare PCE converters, kiosks, store demos, prototypes, Turbo schwag, third-party joysticks, cleaning kits, the TE battery pack, magazines, etc. excluded it from being much a reference.

Gonna weigh in my two cents on this whole Roy "Big Money" Vegas debacle. 

My main problem with the guy- is not that he's a price gouger- lord knows there's plenty.  It's not that he marked up Arkhan's game- I myself have no desire to own or play Arkhan's game so fuck do I care?  My main problem with the guy is that he started a thread on here about price gougers- making people believe that he was something else- someone who actually gave a shit about the community.  Roy- the fact that you started that price gouging thread to alert people to price gougers when all along you were among the worst of the lot has never left me. 

Now- a little further down the road here.  There's no reason to keep pretending that we need to protect people from Roy- his antics here are ludicrously well documented by now- he's already committed to selling his wares and by the looks of it (at least currently) he has no intention of going around and rounding up another collection to gouge them on the resale.  It's enough already.  The guy's not getting banned for his actions- if he was it would've happened by now.  He's also not going away if you keep trying to blast him- because- say what you will about Roy- he stands his ground and he takes it like a man.  He probably also gets a rise out of how NUTS he's driving some of you cats. 

So- hate the guy if you will- but just shut the fuck up already- or at least give us some good jokes- because as I've said on this- all this fighting and not a laugh to be found.  The sauce is weak.  Let's kick it up a notch- if anything.

EDIT: Actually after rereading this thread- there ARE a few laughs to be found after all.  You just have to know where to look for them- sometimes its in phrasing- for example- you can say "You're a bitch" and it just doesn't produce the required lulz.  Saying however "You're very much the bitch" has a distinct cadence and lilt to it- and it's just a much funnier way of saying it.  Stick with this Roy!  A lot of this comedy shit is in timing.  Good show.  Arkhan- your picture of retarded guys in military duds wasn't bad- but the follow-up picture wasn't necessary.  From the first picture you should just let the reader's mind run rampant and fill in it's own ending- comedy isn't just what you show- it's also what you don't show.  You had a lovely set-up- sometimes that's all you need.  Okay gentlemen- class dismissed.
