Id like some professional advice:

I have a 55" Sony Bravia LED tv.

Its froigjrogierag HUGE.  I have surround sound loudness.

What would be an idea way to hook Turbob up to it without dropping a ton of money?

SLG3000 and a DVDO unit?

Just get an XRGB3?

This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

If you can actually afford/justify the XRGB-3, that's what's going to piss you off the least.

How come it will be pissing me off the least?

the thing about the SLG I didn't dig is that its a bare board and shit.

I mostly just want to see Turbob on HUGE SCREEN.

China Warrior will be like as big as me.

Is it possible to make roughly 1/8" square pixels (9/64" x 7/64") look good?

I don't think you'll have much trouble getting rid of any XRGB. They hold their value pretty well.

and it does the thing that Scanline Simulator does?

I really just don't want to buy like 49320 things to hook up just to play China warrior on a 55" TV and have it not look like a smeared abortion

The SLG3000 only accepts 31khz (VGA) input.  Won't work by itself with a PCE.  If you don't care about arcade pcbs, just get an XRGB-2plus.  As it's typically the cheapest.  The 3 outputs in HD, but it's Japanese HD.  So, a lot of USA TVs will not work with it's odd 1125p output.  Also in HD mode you can't use the scan lines anyway.  The only reason to buy a 3 over a 2/2+ is if you are using a console that outputs in 480p (Gamecube, Xbox, some ps2).

You are still going to have to mod the PCE though, so you might as well just mod the it and use your commodore monitor.  15khz RGB CRT will never be beaten.

I thought it accepted composite and was acceptable enough with the line doubling and scanlining and whanot

I dunno if my Sony can handle japanese HD.

Alot of things can beat a 15khz RGB monitor, when the screen is that fuckin tiny.  lol

Playing Valis on a 15" monitor is pretty damn lame.

15"?!? My Apple IIGS RGB (also 15khz) monitor is like 10". Not that I've ever hooked it up to anything but the IIGS.

You know what I wish I had?  Remember those old SNES Kiosks at Toys R Us?  I remember the scan-lines on them looking so clean that I always wondered what kind of TVs they used.

Good idea. I use one of two myself, either a 36 inch Sony Wega circa 1999 or a Samsung 32 inch CRT/HDTV that displays up to 720p/1080i. The old Commodore monitors are a really good idea. I have a couple of spares myself...hmmmm....

US Turbo Duo

SNKNostalgia

27" Sony Trinitron WEGA SD CRT in my bedroom and a 36" Toshiba HD CRT in the living room. The Toshiba is nice for HD gaming, though it could a little better. It is real nice for 480p support on the GC, PS2, Xbox and DVDs. Now that I have a PS3 I would prefer a big LCD in the living room for Blu-ray movies. I was working on getting one, but my parents friends gave me the Toshiba HDTV. Why spend the money  :) .

For retrogaming you can't go wrong with a nice CRT with a Digital Comb Filter built in. Compared to regular CRTs it makes composite almost look like S-video (it does wonders for the NES), makes S-video look closer to component video and component video looks just great. It also helps to learn the service mode codes on these things as many consoles over the years tend to off-center the picture.

I have 32" Sony Bravia LCD XBR9 that my Turbo Duo is hooked up to.  I miss the scan-lines, but I find the picture clear.  Good thing the TUrbo Duo never had a light gun, or else I wood get depressed.  I would get a nice flatscreen crt to play my light gun games.
Let the old mix with the new.

machomadness

I use a JVC Flat Tube TV. I try to use an older TV if I can for older games. Either that, or I'll use my 32" Vizio Razor LED TV.....
