Looking for the the infamous cd-rom middle gear

Title says it all, really. I'm looking for a gear in decent shape from anyone that has an otherwise dead cdrom unit.  I realize that these are hard to come by and I'm willing to pay accordingly.

There is a thread going on here in this forum about possibly getting these gears made.
We need a gear to be able to mold a new batch of gears. So if someone can donate a gear it is well worth a try!
Keep your eye on that thread to see what happens.

Yeah, I saw that thread and I've got my fingers crossed that it comes to fruition. If not, I may have to try my hand at plastic molding.

Thanks for the user name compliment. Most people I come across have no idea who it is. Plus, it's almost never already taken when I sign up to online games or forums.

Now that you mention it, I have heard that there's an Egill's brand beer.......
