Its a free market, if your prices are high, then meh, whatever, they can make a point of it here and move on. I dont see anyone maintaining a 6 page thread about any other seller here. Just because you are a member of any given forum doesn't mean you have to sell stuff to them at low prices specifically on the forum. The whole complaint of "the guys not giving back to the community" is moot. You already gave back to the community as it was just by sticking around as long as you did, via active participation. You could list the stuff on the forum and be waiting weeks on end for the stuff to slowly trickle out. Thats just not good business for the seller.

Ebay offers a wider scope for potential sales, and honestly, yeah, this may be the main TG/Pce forum in regards to North America, but it by no means makes the sum of Nec collectors out there. There are a ton out there who shop on ebay regularly, who have no interest in being on any given forum, for obvious reasons. I can understand it hurts the feelings of some members here, they like to see the stuff go to people they know here, but realistically, in this day and age, with the economy the way it is, you really have to get whatever you can out of your stuff if you need the cash. Sitting around here trying to maintain a sales thread on the side may be ok, but its no end all solution. The Berzerk clone thing, way I see it, it was your stuff, your choice to sell it at the price you deem fit. If no one liked that, including Arkhan, tough rocks, and no one was forced to pay your asking price anyway. I dont even see how it would have affected Arkhans sales of the game, and really, if you were asking for a bit more for a signed copy, then he should be flattered you put a higher value on it due to that alone, because honestly, its not like it was a piece of Sega history signed by Yu Suzuki or Yuzo Koshiro. No average Tg collector outside of the forums is really even going to know who the fuck Arkhan is unless they saw him at a convention, let alone put any value on his name being on the copy. If it was me, I would have priced the signed copy at the same rate as the original, but that's me, not you.

I honestly tried to read some of this thread, but it started to look more like Arkhan was trying to make it about himself beating a dead horse and constantly instigate shit with you over his prior issues with your sale, etc, and honestly I just dont have the attention span for 5 pages of that. You should have just ignored it and moved on, because all he was doing was baiting you into nonsense and you kept coming back for more. Then the hypocrite starts the infamous "gouging much" thread so he can bitch about similar parasites who double their money.
Then he starts a thread called "TurboGrafx Collectors' Reference" or somesuch. It's nothing but bragging pictures of his collection, but enough to make him believe he's providing a community service (a belief not even he held too strongly, as he deleted it as soon as he cashed out and sold everything).
So he sells his collection and the other MC for even more, attempts to profit on another man's work reselling Insanity, and deletes the 30-page "gouging much" to cover his tracks when the evidence against him becomes overwhelming.

Since then he hangs around to bask in his infamy and pretend he's still interested in the system he doesn't own. Nat dares him to leave, he dares Nat to ban him, and nothing happens.  It is my hope that someday RV and Professorson will attempt a craigslist transaction, at which point the universe will implode and there will be only darkness...and peace.

See how the facts get all fucked?  Yes I refered to Digitpress, yes a couple weeks later I bought ONE loose Magical Chase for $175.  A Couple weeks later, while I was ONLY looking for the MC manual, that same seller who sold me the loosie said he had a second Magical Chase with manual he would sell me for $225.  I bought that one also.

Sure I started that thread, no doubt.  My intention was to point out overpriced stuff and if you recall, it was a $1500 boxed Turbografx.  $1500 is/was/never will be the the going rate, as it obviously didn't sell.  My Magical Chase did in fact sell which means it WAS worth $400 to someone.  The thread had no intention to be anyones personal bitchfest about "parasites".

The pictures were meant for people to see what they were missing and if their games were complete.  I know some people love to say it was of no help but fact is, it didn't help YOU.  I had people message me and thank me for the reference.  I had people asking questions and tell me if anything was missing.  Oh, lets not forget the fact that it was discovered "based off my bragging pictures" that there are 2 different versions of the Y's I&II pack in.  The one made in China and the one made in the USA.  How about the people that didn't even realize there were USA and Canadian boxes and what their differences were?  After I took the site down, I was asked to provide all the info to someone so they could put it back up.  Which I gave them so they could.

Actually that second Magical Chase I had was sold to someone here on the forums (bet ya didn't know that did ya?).  The third Magical Chase I had is the one I sold on eBay for a profit, so you're partly right.

Yes, I deleted that thread.  It looked much like the beginning of this thread which is a bunch of bitching and slandering.  It turned it to a bunch of inaccurate bullshit.  I've never denied the things I've done, I've been pretty damn up front with it all and still admit every bit of it to this day.  The truth doesn't need to be hidden.  What I hid was a bunch of people jumping on the bandwagon believing things that never even happened.

I would've joined in on this crap sooner!  but, I was busy loading the car up for tomorrow. .   I didn't read much between my last post and now aside from ProfProf asking why we hate roy.  Here is my take, seeing as I am a big reason / creator of the current situation.

aside from his first round of fucking someone over via the magical chase disaster, it went a little something like:

1) He just had to have him some signed/preorder copies of Insanity cause hes a srs collector.  I mentioned I had more than just the basic game/preorder stuff, and he grabbed it all up for collecting.  Pretty cool, someone really wants to collect my dopey game.
2) He said once he gets his magical chase and complete US collection, hes leaving this forum because there's too many douchebags (said to me on the phone when he was going to sell me his second acquired complete US collection, that I delayed a bit on and bought new rollerskates instead.  Roll bouncin' is a bit more important than TG counterparts to games I already own.  Of course Roy used rollerskates as fuel to try to make me look like a queer, or something.)
3) Anyway, Roy started hocking games one day, including Insanity and that entire second collection of games.

This is fine, sell away.  Lots of them went on eBay for a sane price.  Including Roy's standard copy.

Now, the "rare" "limited edition" CCAG 2009 copies: aka the "I light scribed the fuckers, got art at kinkos, put em together in one night, and scribbled sharpee on them" copy he had, ended up on eBay for some moronic price that made me LOL.  Especially since I had NINE of those sitting on my floor still.  I put mine up on eBay for 20$ so people who wanted them could have them for a normal price.  A few of the people even asked "Why are your 9 copies so cheap when this other guys got one for like 150$".   I have the means to make plenty more of those.  They're not rare.  They're not worth anything.  They're a dumbass novelty.  You could all make your own. 

Step 1) Scan the artwork to Insanity
Step 2) print it off or have kinkos do it
Step 3) Lightscribe a CD-R and copy the disc to it in Nero or something
Step 4) scribble stuff on it with a silver sharpee.  Or maybe use gold, to increase value.  Gold is worth more, duh.

I am pretty sure the buyer of it for the obnoxious price was someone who notoriously spends lots of $$$ on things like this.

Next comes the pre-order copy.  Its the same as the standard copy, only I scribbled on it with a silver marker and put a number on it.   It too went for some idiotic price on ebay.  It was a gimmick to drum up interest and preorders to front the pressing costs. 

My gimped ass silver sharpee scribbles aren't worth that much money.  If they were, I'd be rich.  Anyone who blows that much cash on a 30$ game with some dumbass on the internets scribblies on it, needs to rethink their spending habits.

This sparked a huge blowout.  It involved some lulz.  I sent a bunch of free copies of the game out to people with scribbling all over them, and shit.    The drama got pretty out of hand, but it was pretty comical for the most part.  It started getting old, but looking back it was still an enjoyable time. 

Roy played the ohhh woe is me, I need house crap and acted like it was 100% cool.  There's something lame to me about hocking homebrew for retarded prices, especially when you know damn well it's not worth that price, and you're just pretending its rare and worth something.   Pier Solar 1st print ebay prices for a game that I have 300+ of sitting on my floor.  Retarded.

It may sound like I am jealous he got that much, but I am not really.  "its a free market, deal with it", etc.  *are* reasonable counters to this whole thing, and I agree....

Except for one tiny little detail, and I think if this detail didn't exist, I would have been less ticked about the entire thing... I would have shrugged it off as "hey wow that guys a dick, oh well"...

Roy was the one who started of the "Gouging much?" thread, in which he bitched about people charging stupid prices for things on eBay.  

The drama leaked all the way to digitpress, where he tried to play it off like he was the victim and did NOTHING wrong...so roy deleted the ENTIRE THREAD to cover his tracks and look like less of a hypocritical tool on other forums.  Hence, the new Turbo gouging on ebay (RIP gouging much) thread.  It's a permanent reminder of how someone pussed out completely.

So he lingered around here after strike #2 to this community, basically hovering around threads only to comment and piss/moan if someone mentioned him negatively.  He even went so far as to offer to pay for a plane ticket to fly me to vegas so we could have a battle royale over the whole thing since the verbal bashing wasn't working for him.  That's pretty classic.  Way to take verbal debates physical in the stupidest way possible.  The plane ticket would cancel out the retarded price for Insanity.  Not very cost-effective when you have to buy a house!  Not to mention flying someone to you with the intent of fighting them isn't going to do well for your family in the long run when you're in prison for being a jackass.

and anyway, he put his account up for deletion or whatever, but still comes, again and again.  Only to attempt to defend himself against a bunch of people who probably don't give two flying shits what he has to say anymore.

It is a very idiotic place, the C64 scene.   A decent computer, a great sound chip, a bunch of neat games, a handful or two of really awesome people, ....... all shot to shit by a small band of complete and utter morons.  Its interesting, one of the big instigators of problems has been MIA for a year and we're wondering where he went.

I still noodle around in the C64 land sometimes, but not often.  I made some pretty hilarious friends there.  One day all the really out of control threats/drama/stupidity tough guy bullshit will cease.  There are some people there who just badger people because they can.   I remember the one project, the guy spearheading it got mad when customers got mad that he screwed up, so he called them all pussies and douchebags, lol.   It was pretty great, since the engineer responsible for the hardware was in the background facepalming and going "never again.  No more projects like this".

This is as opposed to someone like Shags selling me a batch of Saturn games stating they are in great condition, to where as they arrive looking like his kids ran them over sand paper, ending with me spending more money to have them resurfaced, still finding one could not be saved. Thats great for the 20-30 people here still actively posting, who only plan to buy and sell to each other, cutting each other nice deals, but its a fucking retarded mindset to try to carry out to the real market, and since you really have no active market of Turbo goods here in stock to sell constantly to anyone, including outsiders, to prove the values you are trying to dictate, your opinion is moot. Its great that you can go around saying Blazing Lasers is only worth 10 bucks, or Burning Soldier is only 40, but if you cant actually find the game at that exact price any day of the week, in a consistent manner, then that simply is not a true market price. The Insanity thing was just more of a collector-fail.  I would have rather it went to a collector for a NOT stupid price from the get-go, instead of someone wanting to apparently profit.   It really bothers me in general to see common, brand new, easy to locate stuff going for retarded prices.  I guess its not TOTALLY roys fault since someone was apparently spastic enough to pay the price.

I don't do this for profit, I do this mostly to break even.  The real fun comes from going to the local conventions (like today) and showing it to people and trying to get new people involved in a console that is not too common.  I think I sold two copies today, (40$), gave a few away to out of towners running conventions soon (hey! free publicity, kinda!), and then ended up buying like 150$ worth of stuff ranging from famicom games to keychains.  Its all fun.

I think you guys are mistaken. I never said I dont think he did anything that was necessarily wrong from a moral standpoint, as he has indeed made some pretty big decisions fueled by greed or personal gain, but I dont think any of it justifies a 6 page thread of instigating fights with him. You could consider it a dick move , what he did, against what was assumed were his friends, sure. Yeah, Roy was only looking out for himself. His decisions are certainly questionable from a moral standpoint. Regardless of that, what he did by no means made him a thief, or equal up to ripping anyone off, and as such, his business dealings were no ones business unless he made it such. He had every right to see to the end every business transaction he made.

I think maybe the bigger problem here is I never considered the guy a friend, just a community member, so anything he did, when I was still here prior, I dont feel affected myself, nor did any of it surprise me. Sini and I had already talked about this prior. I knew what he was about back then, as did he, as did Quoth, as did Nectarsis, nothing worth crying over, and you guys should have just accepted that as fact and moved on. Nothing he has done should have surprised any of you. Like I said, you should never have looked at him as anything other then what he is, and anything he had done could have been covered in 2-3 post, then case closed. Trying to instigate fights with him wont make him go away, nor will it solve anything. If you dont like the guy,or anything he has to say, simply put him on ignore.
