Hey everyone,
I'm working on making a Japan to US hu card adapter, and if all goes well, I can make a few for sale cheap.

I have the idea and how im gonna do it in my head, but curious, whats the best thing I could use as a hu card slot. I saw some folks use a PCI connector, that seems to work, but I'm looking for  something a lil better..

I'll post updates when I get started on this project, it's going to be a timely thing

Thanks!
~John

ah, so thats the problem :P

hmmmmm I may need to think harder on this or give up :P

I have a dead express I could steal the slot from, but that seems like a waste so I wont do that.

Send chop5 a pm if you're interested in making them.  He makes a little converter out of ribbon cable that sticks right on top of the HuCARD and sends them out to forum members on the cheap.  It's called a Chopsado. :)  They're really cool.  He's a techo-wizard around these parts and I bet he'd help you with it.  You can also find him over in chat.

Do not kill hardware for this!

The problem of region has been solved in several ways. Low cost region switches, ICs, and the amazing Chopsado have made traditional converters basically useless overpriced crap for misguided collectors who like seeing HuCards stick a mile out of the front of their system.

EDIT: I forgot to add that in 2013 you can buy a Core Grafx for $50 making region converters even less logical. They made perfect sense 20 years ago, when a PC Engine was $300-600 but not now.

If any of you guys harvest HuCard Slots (or any other parts) from dead systems, please do not throw away the dead systems. If space is a concern, please try to sell, or give away, dead systems to others.

I'm not the only person who plans to make replacement parts for retro Game Systems and Handhelds, in the future, including replacement Game Slots/Connectors with built-in (and/or redesigned to be easily mod-able to support) cheat devices and/or region switches.
