@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

I'm too lazy to watch it (especially with the previews shown before it starts), what was number one as well as some other ones listed?

Shaq-Fu is the E.T. of fighters.  While it is an awful game it is by no means the worst one out there!

Since I don't want to view a video file, could you be so kind as to post a complete list?

Keranu

I think Fat Man is worse than Shaq Fu.

Ugh, that list is pretty bad.

Street Fighter: The Movie certainly doesn't deserve to be at #4.  And Battle Monsters and Voltage Fighter Gowcaser aren't even on the list!

Keranu

Street Fighter: The Movie is really decent actually, the Saturn version at least. It's basically like Street Fighter II except with cheesy graphics and not quite as smooth controls. I haven't played the arcade version even though I hear it's better.

I was disappointed that both Eternal Champions and Mortal Kombat were not on the list.  Damn, I hate those games!

Kitsunexus

Where's Bloodsport and Time Killers? This list is woefully inaccurate.
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.
THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS RULE!

OldRover

Why would EC and MK be on the list? Both were innovators of the genre and both had a very respectable following, especially MK...which still happens to have a huge fanbase.

I'm surprised Time Killers didn't make the list, honestly. Pit Fighter, hrm...not sure it should have made the list. Street Smart should have made the list if Pit Fighter was in it. Kasumi Ninja...hrm...10th place *maybe*. Blood Storm should have made the list.

That's it, Bloodstorm, not Bloodsport! My bad... XD

For what it's worth, that game DID have good graphics and sound, just shit gameplay that capitalized on violence.
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.

Pit Fighter was fun for its time - though I'm not so sure how I'd feel if I were to play it today.  There are so many bad & boring fighting games out there that it's definitely not an easy job to make a definitive list.

:-& Oh man, and that pitbull barf scene was something else.  Ugh.

NecroPhile

Yeah, this list is a little whacked out (big surprise), but I love the comment for Ballz - "the equivalent of giving your console a dirty sanchez".

The crusty mustard controls are really bad though, so I could see it on the list, just not that high up.  Maybe at #10.

Man, the fuckers that make lists like that need to get out more. There are at least 40 other fighters worse than anything on that list. The early 90s were *awash* is shitball fighters. Shaq Fu is like KOF compared to Rise of the Robots, or Strip Fighter, or dozens of others. I really really hate Primal Rage, but its actually playable, which is more that I can say for Fight for Life. Man, Fight for Life is soooooo bad.

Street Fighter: Teh Movie is very, very different on the Saturn than it is in the arcade.

Killer Instinct needs to be on that list as well as:
Street Fighter 1 (especially for the Turbo)
Street Smart
Deadly Moves
Final Fight Revenge
Brutal - Paws of Fury
Super Hang-On
Heavy Nova
Black Hole Assault

Rise of the Robots should definitely have been on the list, whoever wrote that probably just picked whatever games get brought up the most in forums instead of doing any real research.  Rise of the Robots is the worst fighting game ever, I don't see how anyone who has actually sat down and played it on an actual Super Nintendo could argue otherwise.

I really enjoyed all three of these at the time of their release. I still think killer instinct holds up well.

the only reason maybe SF1 should be on the list is that they improved everything about the game so well with the second release it makes the first one laughable. But I think if you compare it to other games that were out at that time it wasnt nearly as bad as some others like super hang-on LOL

PCEngineHell

When you are referring to SF: The Movie, the home ports were programmed by a Capcom staff. The arcade title was done by Strata aka Incredible Technologies via same crew as Time Killers and Blood Storm. I love all 3 Strata fighting games. Stratas SF The Movie was great. It had a great combo system, and the control was spot on and the animation was smooth.

The graphics were very detailed and very clear, and there was alto of secrets in the game like making the crowd explode on the Vega stage. I also tend to like Pit Fighter. I also liked Battle Monsters for Saturn. I own Time Killers arcade game board actually. I also have Survival Arts, which to me is better then MK 1 or 2. It is kinda cheesier, but there is way more play in it then Mk and better deaths. I also like Kusami Ninja,Ultra Vortek, and Way of the Warrior. Most people hate all 3 of those games to death.

I disagree, big time. There are many other fighters that are worse, but I'll just argue that Fight For Life is bad enough to prove your statement false.

...OK, Yu Yu Hakushou for 3D0 is pretty shit also. Probably better than Fight For Life though...

I'm pretty sure I hate every single game you mentioned there. I'm a huge fighting game fan, but I really really hate all that ultra-substandard, hyper violent crap from that period. Anything with "fatalities" in it can pretty much fuck off. It was sad to see 2D fighting be relegated to the sub-sub-genre of hardcore only fans that its in now, but  that same market shrinkage process separated the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, and now all those shitty MK cash-ins are dead.

...except for MK itself, which not only lives on, just as shitty as it always was, but is actually doing pretty well financially speaking.

I detested MK2. It had an exceptionally stupid AI, worse than any of Strata's games, and its graphics were actually WORSE than the original MK. MK3 was better on both counts, although Ultimate MK3 brought back the stupid AI. The 3D versions that followed were marginal at best and you had to like them based on the storylines rather than the appearance, because Midway can't rig 3D models for shit. Deception is still the best game in the series IMO, even if its final boss was a cheese log left burning too long.

Fuck the A.I. argument. AI is for FPS and chess, not fighting games. As a multiplayer fighter, it was awesome, and the graphics were still better than a LOT of other games at the time.

Yeah, I don't care if a fighting game has any AI at all. It can be multi-player only for all I care, since that's pretty much the only way I play them anyway. It can't be a fatality-based fighter with hidden Babalities enacted by crudely animated photos of porn stars wearing motocross protective gear though. Fuck that.
