10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Almost 30 Years Later, Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood Is Coming To TurboGrafx-16
Rondo of Blood on original hardware? Can't beat that

IMG

Quote from: KotakuE3 2021 has been a great time for folks with modern consoles, but what if you stopped upgrading in 1992? Well, this is for you: Limited Run Games is releasing the original TurboGrafx-16 version of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood in America for the very first time. No release date yet, but the boutique publisher said the game is "coming soon" during today's surprise reveal.

What is Castlevania: Rondo of Blood?

Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, perhaps better known by its Japanese title of Akumajō Dracula X: Chi no Rondo or just Dracula X, was released in 1993 for Japan's PC Engine CD, what we know in the states as the TurboGrafx-CD. It's long been considered one of the best Castlevania games of all time. Although it features mostly linear, level-based gameplay akin to earlier installments, Rondo of Blood is actually a direct prequel to 1997's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the PlayStation hit that first introduced Metroidvania-style gameplay to the franchise.

After remaining exclusive to Japan for over a decade, Rondo of Blood eventually made it to the West in 2007 as part of the PlayStation Portable's Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles collection, which included both a new polygonal remake and the original TurboGrafx game as a secret unlockable. This provided fans the opportunity to play Rondo of Blood with an official English translation for the first time. The game appeared on PlayStation 4 as well, bundled with Symphony of the Night in 2018's Castlevania Requiem compilation.

Quote from: jonebone on 03/30/2017, 12:24 PM@Tbone, don't pay insertion fees...

You get 50 free listings a month, Final fees are 10% or 8% if you get Top-Rated.  There's no reason to give eBay anymore than you need too...

IMG
I see.  I am not a top seller unfortunately.  You need to sell over 100 items per year to qualify as well as hit other marks.  I don't sell that much.  It certainly pays to be a top seller I see.  Keep up the great work.

What's your eBay tag?

Quote from: jonebone on 03/30/2017, 12:08 PMBonk's Box sold, Bravoman CIB sold.

Bonk's Adventure CIC can go for $30 shipped.

Prices are below ebay contrary to some people's opinions here.  And eBay fees for a Top Rated seller are 8%, just to clarify some more false information.

Hulk Hogan is the man.  A true American icon.  I have always loved him and always will.  I have liked him through his entire career but I do think his NWO run, for me at least, was his most memorable.  I'm a Hulkamanaic for life!

Cool pic.  I wish I could go to work with a luchador mask on.  That would be awesome!

Just for the record I bought my sealed Dragon Slayer off of eBay from some guy in Europe and then I sold it to someone on NA.  Nothing was processed through this site.

Wow... really?  Godlberg is such a tool.  You just proved my point.  Hulk Hogan is the greatest wrestler of all time.  Goldberg was/is a one trick pony who couldn't wrestle for shit.  Anyone who knows anything about wrestling could tell you that.  Hogan wouldn't even let Goldberg lick the shit off his boots.
I'll just have to ask some guys that know anything about wrestling I suppose....
Goldberg lol

It's a shame that he knocked Brett Hart out of wrestling because he didn't know how to wrestle properly.  Kicked Hart so hard it ended his career.

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 12/14/2016, 11:57 PMIt's really sad to see how many people apparently enjoy getting flamed. Their lives must be incredibly lonely if they feel the need to keep this thread alive just for the attention. "Piss on me some more, at least it's something."

We really need a mental health system in this country. People are hurting.
Keep it coming.  I love the heat.  I'm kinda like a modern day Andy Kaufman.  The fact that I can get people so enraged by buying a few games for cheap and posting my thoughts on a forum is fascinating to me.  Kinda like how heels get the crowd so mad in wrestling.  Always loved the heels.

Wow, so now I'm Hitler.  That's ok.  I have always loved the heels.

On a side note, can anyone tell me how to get the picture to actually show up in the post instead of just a link to it?  Thanks.

Just got a Turbo Express for $60.  Very happy =P~

Thank you Keith Courage.  You do great work.

IMG

It is in good cosmetic condition however it had a dead cockroach in the cartridge slot.  I was able to clean it out mostly.  I got a game to play on the screen with no sound through speakers but it has sound through the headphone jack.  Now the video cut out but I am still getting sound through the headphones.

Anyway, I'm sure it needs a total cap replacement.  Can anyone here recommend someone to do this work?  Also might get the LCD screen mod.  What about a battery upgrade?  Are those worth it?  I hear using Sony camcorder batteries are good.  Thoughts?

Quote from: CatPix on 11/19/2015, 11:13 AMSo far my favorite PC-Engine pad is the standard Coregrafx1 two buttons pads.

Retroblog - Coregrafx #2.jpg

I have an Avenue 6 pad, but it feels a bit too bulky and I don't know of any game using it aside from SFII.
I will try to get an Avenue 3 pad too but again, I don't know if so many games make use of it.
Where's the cord?

Edit:  What the?  The picture changed and now the cord is there.  Am I losing my mind?

Seriously?  Is that game good?
