@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

You've probably already seen this, but they split it up into four videos.  Even after all this time, still getting no love from industry media.  But I thought the whole top 25 was pretty f'd up. ](*,)

I have a set of the infrared pc engine controllers, which are ok, as long as you don't turn more than 5 degrees from the receiver, and someone started a petition to get some throwback company to make new wireless controllers (not showing signs of fruition), so I'm reading an article today about some dude who has hacked nes, snes and genesis controllers into wireless VC controllers for the Wii, and I'm thinking "how hard would it be to hack a turbopad into a wireless turbopad?"

Anyone with the skillz, please tell me, what would it basically take to do this?  Give me a basic idea of what materials would be needed and how it would work.

I don't really want to sell it, but I can't justify having two of these systems, considering the economic climate of late.  So I'm selling the cool one, which I had a region switch put in by OSG, as well as an orange LED light, which fluxuates with the video signal.  This will include the TG, CD unit, docking station, carrying case, adapter, av cables, and to sweeten the pie, an Arcade Card Pro, which means this system can play any game in the Turbo/PCE library.  Everything is in great shape, but I'll upload some pics so you can see for yourself.  I was going to sell this on ebay, but they canceled my listing because region switches are "an infringement of intellectual property rights."  So here it is, the TurboGrafx system that will whip the tits off of any japanese duo, HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!

Hi, my name is 2X4, and I don't own a Nintendo.

rest of forum:  Hi 2x4

I know I'm the only fool on this thread who doesn't own an orignal NES, but I want to change that.  I figured you guys could tell me the best place to get one, after getting your shots in.  Can ya help a brother out?

After extensive searching, I was unable to find the font used for the TG-16 logo and product packaging.  So I decided to recreate it myself.  I have a lot of letterforms completed already, but I could use a little help if anyone's game.  I am sure a lot of people find the font ugly, but it is part of the Turbo's identity, and I would really appreciate any assistance you guys could provide.  What I'm after are high res scans of letters in this font, preferably black text on white, but I'll take what I can get.  More obvious places to get these are game and accessory packaging and manuals, but if you know of other sources, please use them as well.  I especially need lowercase letterforms, as well as any punctuation and odd capitol letters such as N, K, Q, W, M, etc.  Thank you in advance, I am anxious to see what you guys can come up with!

Console Repair/Mod Center / Turbo in HD

Yes, I know the first thing anyone's thinking is "Why the hell would you want to play the turbo in a horribly distorted aspect ratio?"  Well, for a variety of reasons I want to be able to play the Turbo on my HDTV.  I'm looking into a video mod anyway, so I got to thinking, how hard (or impossible) would it be to mod a turbo to HDMI out?  If this is possible, It would be nice to see the wonderful rgb palette on my plasma, as well as eliminating the rca hookups.  I'm not hardcore enough to know how one might go about doing this or if it is even possible, but maybe by hacking a dvi-i to hdmi converter could work?  Could someone with more hardware wisdom provide some insight?

Does anyone know of a decent one?  I have tried that "Let's Emu" which left me thinking "Let's Not."  It is so feature lacking that you still have to do command line crap for a lot of stuff, like actually getting 1024X768 instead of "fullscreen" which is original resolution surrounded by black.  I'm not a dos dude, nor do I care to be.  There must be a better way!  Yes I know the other emus, but I need one for linux.   :-k

. . . the crash course in HuC programming that Nod was doing?  Is he going to finish that or did real life get in the way?  I only have a basic knowledge of C++, but it was enough to make that very interesting to me.  I think he was also working on his own compiler, and some documentation to go with it.  Nod, if you're out there, what's the skinny?

I have recently purchased the CD add on and I don't want to play original copies in it.  I have always heard that the TG-CD plays cd-rs with little or no problem, more reliably than a duo system does.  Well, I have burned copies onto verbatim media with blue "super azo" dye, with carefully checked cuesheets and TOCs, cleaned the laser lens thoroughly and repeatedly, and still, this thing refuses to read the discs.  Before anyone asks:

I cleaned the lens "carefully" with alcohol and a q-tip

I burned at the slowest speed possible with my drive (bin-cue).

Yes, the motor spins the cd up.

The legality of my copies isn't relevant.

Why the hell won't it work?  It may load the intro sometimes, then it just spins, spins for eternity like a vortex spiraling into the scorched pits of hell, while a disturbing laugh echoes in my head until I get pissed and chuck my umteenth copy of Ys into the trash can.  Can anyone offer some insight?

I have been looking for this on ebay and saw only one, it was available only for a short time at a staggering $150.  Does anybody have one they would like to sell or know of a better place to get one?
