Hi. This is something I've been wondering about for a while: When playing a CD game on my Duo, if I want to play a different game, is it better to soft reset the system (by simultaneously pressing Select and Run), and then inserting a new game and pressing Run, or is it better to completely power down the system and turn it back on? Sometimes when I soft reset a CD game, there's a minor sort of popping/crackling sound (from the TV, not the Duo itself), so I didn't know if it was bad for the system in any way.

Thanks for your help.

Hi. I want to burn some PC Engine CD backups, but the drive in my desktop won't write CD-Rs at 8X, nor will the external one I got in the mail today for that specific purpose (it won't go lower than 10X). I'll be using a SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 adapter to connect whichever drive I get to my desktop (it's a shared computer and I can't replace the main drive itself). Can someone please recommend a drive that can burn CD-Rs at 8x (and of a quality that'll work in my Duo)? Thanks.

I stumbled on this video today. It's called "TurboGrafx 16 & TurboDuo Commercials," and I figured some of you might enjoy it.

Is there any harm in leaving it in the slot of my PC Engine Duo while playing CD games that don't use it?

I just got a restored PC Engine Duo, and I have a few questions about how to use it. (I can't find any documentation or tutorials online.) I've had a CoreGrafx for a while, so I know the basics, but I've never used a Duo before.

1. Do I have to remove whatever game is in the HuCard slot in order to play a CD game?
2. Am I able to save data from certain HuCard games to the Duo's save memory? If so, how?
3. How do I edit the save data on the system? For example, if I want to delete save files.

Thanks.

What are your 5 favorite games for the system? CD, HuCards, ranked, unranked -- however you feel like answering the question. I'm fairly new to the library, and I'd love to hear what all you PC Engine experts/devotees have at the top of your lists. Thanks.

I can pay via PayPal, or I can trade a Joy Tap, the PC Engine three-player multitap (similar to the one in the link below, but with THREE ports instead of five). It was cleaned and works correctly. I'm in the U.S.

From what I gather, no one's gotten very far (or put in much work) on an SD-card or HDD option for the Turbo/PC Engine CD -- something similar to the GDEMU or PSIO. Does anyone have information about a project in the works? Or is this unlikely to ever happen?

I'm in the U.S., using a CRT TV, with NO plans to buy a TV that supports SCART. I have a Turbo Everdrive V1 and a CoreGrafx, and NO HuCards or official Turbo/PC Engine CD games. I want to buy a Turbo or PC Engine CD that's refurbished with a lens, new caps, etc. I ONLY want to play games using my Turbo Everdrive and burned Japanese and U.S. CD games -- no original HuCards or CD games. I'm happy to sell my CoreGrafx and buy a Doujindance Duo or Duo-R, but is that my cheapest and best option?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm in the U.S., and I've read conflicting reports about whether or not I can use a Master System power supply (Model: 3025) with a Core Grafx system. I have an official Genesis model 1 power supply, but it's the 1602-3 model, which outputs 10V instead of 9V for some reason. I can't seem to find a clear answer on whether or not it's okay to use it with the Core Grafx; that's why I thought the Master System plug might be better.

You can see the 1602-3 model here:

I'd prefer to use the Master System power supply, because I no longer even have the Master System console, but I just want to use whichever power supply is safer. I would appreciate any input. Thanks.
