@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Anyone know how to print these to the correct size to fit in the game case?
#4
DOOOOOM, as always
Also, uploaded by me.

I like the Dorabian nights game. The crater maze one reminds me of a game called Heiankyo Alien I used to play on the Gameboy.
#7
BTW the game I bought was a complete copy of DORAEMON MEIKYU DAISAKUSEN on pc engine, so in the end I'll be paying about the same as Ebay, maybe slightly more and a lot more hassle, but it's all in good fun.
#8
Sounds like a lot of good advice. Maybe I will order something from Rakuten next and see how expensive it gets just for fun.
#9
I see, thanks for the tips guys.

I just signed up with Japamart, and I've won a couple of auctions. I ended up paying $17.69 for a 499 Yen ($4.93) item, after all the fees/commission and shipping to Japamart. I will also have to pay to have it shipped to me once they receive it. Anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

I sent him my cd-rom 2 with multiple issues. He kept me updated every step of the way, and I  got it back in perfect working order!
#13
Just ordered some, thanks!
#14
Cool, I didn't know about that. Thanks!

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a set of capacitors for the cd-rom2 unit they are willing to sell? I'm getting a lot of read errors such as "set disc" and "cover open". After doing some reading in the forums it seems like the capacitors are a good place to start. I lubricated the gears, and they are working smoothly. I may also be interested in repair services, if anyone offers them.

oops, wrong section. Sorry

Finally got around to posting pics of this setup. IMG
It works great, all I have to do is push a few buttons to switch between systems. I mounted power strips to the shelves too.

Quote from: Joe Redifer on 02/16/2012, 10:50 PMI think JP Shadow of the Beast will run on a US Genesis without modification or region circumventing but don't quote me on that, I could definitely be wrong here.  It may have been one of those games I had on my Everdrive and it wouldn't work because the 32X was attached and I just forgot about it and moved on.  I have played the JP version in an emulator and while better than the US version, it's still a piece of crap compared to the Turbo CD version.
Yes it is not on the list of games here that have lockouts http://www.whipassgaming.com/genesisreviews/genesisimportfaq.htm I was worried about the 50/60hz thing, but now I realize that is just PAL games. I know the turbo cd version is much better, I have that one as well.

Quote from: guyjin on 02/16/2012, 10:55 PMDoes the game work in your Genesis with the 32X removed? Some EA games don't play on some Genesises.
I don't know, I've actually never used it without the 32x and I don't even have an av cable for it. It is one of the early model 1's that says high definition graphics on it. I know the game works because it works in my model 3.
#22
Will it run right on my U.S system?
#23
Quote from: guest on 02/01/2012, 03:07 PMIt's an EA game.  Sometimes the EA games have special crap in them that make attachments refuse to operate.  See if other EA games with the tall dumb yellow tabs operate right.

You aren't missing anything though.  The game sucks on the Genesis.
I tried James Pond 2, Normy's Beach Babe O Rama, Pga Tour Golf, and Road Rash 3. They all worked. Is there any way I can modify the cartridge so it will work? I know what I am missing... maybe I should just buy the Japanese version...
#24
oh yeah, if your worried about feedback. http://myworld.ebay.com/77fordtruckman

Looking for a decent copy of star control 2 for a fair price. Must be the U.S version since I don't read Japanese. Also if anyone knows anywhere other than doperoms where I can download this please let me know. The file from doperoms is corrupted... However if someones sells me a copy then I won't need the download.
#26
Sure, I don't see why not.

Quote from: incrediblehark on 02/07/2012, 10:37 AMSorry if I haven;t read it yet, I'm about to go through my pms now. As for the marty, I got a drive belt yesterday that im going to install and see if i can get the floppy up and running again. Im not in any hurry to sell this one and would honestly rather trade it for some other gaming goodies.
That's fine. Unfortunately the only gaming related goods I can part with are some broken Sega systems (Genesis, cd, master system) and a Pc Engine memory base 128. Any chance you are into archery? I have a nice compound bow I am looking to sell.

Quote from: 77FordTruckMan on 02/07/2012, 12:41 AM... strangely my outbox is always empty even after sending a pm.
Did you check the "Save a copy in my outbox" box in the lower left hand corner?
No... guess I missed that.
#29
Do you have an idea of what you would want for the fm towns system? I would make an offer but you may consider it "lo ball". I sent you a pm but I'm not sure if it went through, strangely my outbox is always empty even after sending a pm.
#30
I just leave it attached all the time, every other game I have works fine in it. I don't even have a video cable for the genesis itself so I guess I will have to dig out my model 3 to play it.
#31
Does anyone know why the genesis version of shadow of the beast doesn't work when the 32x is attached? Is there any way to make it work? I do not know of any other games with this problem.

Ok, I ordered 2 of the 8's and a 4 port component switch for my xbox 360 and ps3. I will let you know how it works out.
#34
I may be interested in everything except the tg16, how much are you asking?

Quote from: Dark Fact on 12/22/2011, 11:20 AMI'm still not a fan of the PS3 though, aside from Little Big Planet. Now THAT is an awesome game!
Not a ps3 exclusive, but have you played Skyrim?

Quote from: munchiaz on 11/12/2011, 02:15 AM^ i looked it up. its basically what plagued the xbox 360 with the red ring of death. ps3 version is called the yellow light of death. basically the heat sync stopped doing its job, so now there's an issue with the solder on the board. I would call sony and pay for a fix, but i have a Japanese ps3, so they won't touch it, they would want me to send it away to japan for repair. so I;m going to attempt to fix it myself tomorrow. Wish me luck guys
So do you have one of the original PS3 systems... the backwards compatible one? As my buddy had to retired his as the heat was doing a number on his board it seamed like every month. The newer ones are much more durable. So my buddy got a new slim one.. works great but when she heats up sometimes you hear the plastic "pop" expand on the case... there cookers!!!
I have one of the original models, the guy selling it on Ebay said that some of them had power supplies that were prone to overheating, so he replaced those in the ones he was selling and put new thermal paste in etc. I have never had a problem in the 2 years or so I've had it and it's seen a lot of use. The only problem I've had is freezing and some lag on games like Skyrim and Fallout NV, but I'm pretty sure thats the games.

I just counted and I will need 13, but I would like to have more because I'm sure I will pick up another system or 2 at some point. I was figuring on buying 2 of the 8's if you guys didn't know of any bigger ones, so I guess that's what I will do, I'll let you know how they work out and post pictures of the new setup I am building once it's done. I'm having trouble finding the cd rack I want.

Does anybody know where I can buy an av switch with more than 8 ports? 8 is the most I have been able to find but I was hoping for about 12 or more. I guess I could get 2 of the 8's... anyway, I'm talking about one of these, just with more ports http://www.ebay.com/itm/EC-New-8X1-Port-3RCA-AV-HDTV-DVD-splitter-Switch-Box-8-input-1-output-switch-/120803403859?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2071a853

Darn, I just paid twice that for Takahashi Meijin No Shin Boken Jima. Your prices seem reasonable.
#41
Looking for a power base in working condition at a decent price. Please let me know what you've got and how much you want for it. I am also interested in a cd unit if the price is right.
#42
I haven't had any problems either, maybe they ran the disc through a repair machine. They sell so many games it would be a good idea to have one around.
#43
Oh ok, I tried putting it in the other hand and just about everything else. Thanks, now I can actually get somewhere, the key I need is in a chest.
#44
This may sound like a stupid question, but how the heck do you open chests in this game? Does each one have a key or something?

Quote from: munchiaz on 01/13/2012, 03:22 PM^got alot stuff there. I would suggest dusting, and getting a air purifier. I just set up my game room, and picked up a air purifier, and it really cuts back on the dust in the room.
Yeah, I didn't realize how bad it was until I took these pictures, never thought about an air purifier, I will have to look into that.

Quote from: Sadler on 01/13/2012, 03:34 PMNice collection! Your cat seems thoroughly unimpressed by the TurboExpress. :D
Thanks, yeah he will lay just about anywhere including on top of piles of games or whatever, I've had him for 14 years so he is used to it by now.

Quote from: guest on 01/13/2012, 05:18 PMSelectavision!  For a while I kept seeing those locally on craigslist and thinking I should snag one - thankfully I got over it before pulling the trigger.  I know I wouldn't have used it, but how do you like yours?

P.S. - Get some sturdier shelves STAT!  Some of those guys look like they're only a good breeze and a few more days worth of dust collection away from collapse.  :P
I always wanted one and finally found one at the flea market for a good price with a bunch of discs. It isn't really that great for regular watching because the video quality is pretty bad and it is prone to skipping, but I like it just because it is so obscure and almost nobody I know has even heard of it. I do use it regularly though, I just like the thought of watching movies on records. As for the shelves, they do look about ready to collapse, but they are actually more sturdy than they look. I need to redo the entire setup entirely because I need more room but I am running out of ideas... I just need to get my own house, but first I have a truck, a car, and 2 motorcycles to finish restoring...
#46
Wow, I've seen some really nice collections here. Here's most of my stuff, my room is so small I could not get far enough away to get good pictures, but they're not too bad. Taking these pictures made me realize how badly I need to dust. I included some other systems as well.

My only concern is that it does not have that little connector that plugs in on the board.
#48
It probably won't display on my tv either since it didn't with the component adapter.

I was wondering about that, I will have to try it.
