10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 06/01/2017, 10:00 PMThere is no such thing...as a Turbo Duo R.

Also, it's Gate of Thunder, not Gates, and Ys has no apostrophe in it (despite how many hundreds of posts here have me writing "Y's".)

To answer your question, someone here does make new ones. Someone will hopefully link to it.
PC Engine Duo-R

and i think your gates comment is for someone else?

Edit: nvm i see your just using some copy pasta

any way you could get them done in glass?

I would be interested either way in getting a couple of each if they are not super expensive

Quote from: rogecm on 06/01/2017, 06:53 AMSo the disc spins up at a normal speed but won't load the game? Typically turning the V102 potentiometer on the motherboard slightly to the left fixes this.

However, before doing that I should ask if you have your DUO setup in a different room or in a different area than where it was before when it was working. Some other game systems could be causing CD drive interference.

My pc engine duo is in the same place where is was working fine, i have some fear to turn this potentiometer and the things goes worse. should i need a multimeter to do this?
just make some marks on the potentiometer to mark where you started so you can always "reset" it back to where it was when you started

So the Turbo Duo R i won on ebay didn't have the HuCard lid

I was thinking since i use a TED it would be nice to 3D print a replacement that had the reset button built into the lid so you could reset it without lifting the lid.

anyone know if theres a 3d model of the lid floating around anywhere?

The ones on ebay or aliexpress are either in wrong package or way to expensive, better to get 10-50 in the right package then 1 for the same price.

SOT-23/SC-59
Thank you so MUCH! Do you know if this can be found inside anything else?

I'll probably end up ordering it anyways 10$ is not a bad price to get this thing back up to 100%

Quote from: Keith Courage on 04/06/2017, 07:36 AMYou should change all of the caps not just the audio ones. The caps in the upper left corner (4.7uf and 100UF)especially because those deal with back light power/brightness. Could just be that they went bad while you had it apart.
this was just a photo i found on google that had a clear picture of the part i needed replaced, the TGE im working on is receiving a full cap kit i purchased from console5. I've seen enough PCB damaged by bad caps that i know the negatives of not replacing them preemptively

so upon taking apart my Turbo Express i accidentally broke one of the SOT-23 Transistors that controlled the green channel (D206)  ](*,)

I ended up taking the one from D208 and it fixed the video color being off but now i lost control of the backlight brightness so I want to find a replacement for this part and i cant find anything on google that names this part.

I'm sure its something basic but I'm more of a follow the instructions kind of guy and I'm lost without them.

anyone know what this part is, and if there are any of these used in another console i could take it from (I have a bunch of broken systems including nes snes n64 gameboy's)

if i cant figure it out i may just composite mod it and add a TFT LCD so the brightness control wont mater.

what do you guys think? sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place!
