Quote from: munchiaz on 07/26/2014, 12:01 AMIts been a very very long time since ive gotten a good deal at a thrift store. I've kind of falling out of the habit of hitting up thrift stores. It just seems like over the past few years that there are so many people doing it, and i just dont see the point. But i went to good will today to try and find some computer speakers, and got an awesome deal, on something ive wanted for awhile but havent been able to find for a good price.

The psone screen is something i've wanted for awhile, just havent found a good deal. I got the whole playstation bundle with controller, memory card, game and screen for $24
Solid find man!  I got mine last year for $50 incl Tekken 1 & 2 +  Sony mem card and original Sony controller.

I'd guess he's riding one of those mechanical horse rides outside department stores in the 80s.

Finally escaped the house for a few hours this past weekend - working OT and sick (cold/flu) for last 2 months has limited my ability to acquire new fun stuffs.  It was a small haul of RE Umbrella Chronicles for Wii, Iggy's Wrecking Balls & tremor pack for N64 and a Y's III for SNES.  Should keep me busy-ish.  Oh and a White IPA with lemongrass from Howe Sound brewing.  That was very tasty.

Your thong?
Reflective PT belt. It keeps me safe when I go outside (or so the Army keeps trying to convince me...) :D
It stops gunfire???  ;)  :P
Gunfire, drunk drivers, small explosions, falling meteors, and quite possibly the occasional flying fat person. According to the Army, these belts make you indestructible. Or the belt is indestructible. I get them confused :P
When I saw that I thought it was a heart rate monitor.  Made sense at the time with the running shoes and all.

The pedestrians around here could use a few of those indestructibelts - 3 seconds left on the (do not) walk light to get across 6 lanes of traffic?  Sure why not.

Went to the Vancouver last weekend and picked up a few goodies.
$20 for Ghost Manor & $15 for Night Creatures from Game Deals in New Westminster.  They have some decent Turbobs in the shop, fewer now that those 2 are gone.
Down the street was the Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo which was the reason I went to New West in the first place.  There was one table on which everything was $5 and that's where I picked up the PCE TV tuner, Cratermaze, Cosmic Fantasy 2 and World Heroes 2.  I couldn't believe it.  The GTAs and SSX were $5 also but from a different vendor.

pm'ed back amigo.

Sparky & Munchiaz with some sweet haulage there  :)

Good weekend for gaming out here too but only 5 mins from my house.
Snagged the Devil's Crush (JIC), the Hudson tap (finally!) & a red PS2 mem card (not pictured) for $50.
- first time I've seen so much of teh rarez in the wild - vendor had Parasol Stars, Shadow of the Beast, Chew Man Fu & Bomberman but I was only missing DC.

The EZ_Flash arrived from HK today after being back ordered for 2 months w/ a 2GB microSD card for $38.

My 5 yr old gave me the half eaten Kerr's toffee.

It's driving me a bit crazy that it's this hard to find one in the wild.
I have the 'original' on Wii VC and have Nekketsu Downtown Monogatari for my Duo but neither of those are very easy to play while i'm standing in line for 15 minutes at Costco. #-o
None of the dozen local shops have ever had it come in.  I'm going to the Vancouver Retro Game Expo in June but no one had it for sale there or at the non-Retro Expo last year so my hopes aren't high.  However there's an awesome British shop & cafe across the street so at the very least I can get a few more pounds of good black pudding.  :D

Looks awesome roflmao.  Let me know if you go ahead with them, I'd love either the original BL or Courage.

Been on my list a while too.  Please add me!

That boxed version would run me about $100 CDN since the shipping to Canada is $47.95 on top of the $50 BIN.  The other 2 don't ship to Canada so I'm just going to have to be patient because $100 is just unjustifiable.  I was thinking more like $40 CIB incl s&h would be my max.  Maybe I am just too cheap?  Maybe I should just hunt down a EZ Flash 4 and call it a day lol

Hey Nando,

I prefer English nowadays, my Japanese reading and speaking was passable in the 90's and early 2000's because I did a high school exchange program thing.  In 2013 all that's left is courteous greetings, food ordering and reading time/date . lol   I really appreciate the possibility and suggestion but I just can't put that kind of effort in anymore.  I barely get 20 minutes here and there to pick up my Micro and I spend 5 of that fending of my kids so spending 10 of the remaining 15 it trying to figure who said what is just....  ](*,)  Especially since I have never played it for GBA.
#23
Some nice pick ups xcrement5x, especially the PC stuffs

Hit U and Int'l districts Pink Gorilla locations in Seattle last wknd during a much needed break from Comic Con.  I nabbed a sealed Super Puzzle Fighter II, I Spy (cart only), Super Mario Advance (cart only) and a bnib spare charger for my GBA Micro.  Forgot how good  :D Super Mario 2 is and how frustrating it can be.  ](*,)
#25
I'm in British Columbia Canada.  Should have mentioned that...  I don't think we have them near here.  Was just in Seattle last weekend but couldn't find a copy there in the 6 places I tried...  :(
#26
Looking for a copy of River City Ransom EX for Gameboy Advance CIB preferred...
Let me know if you have one.

Thanks!

Bought a $10 scratch ticket and won $75!  So I went shopping.
$40 went on these goodies for my DC and the other $30 went toward a negitoro don, a Kirin Ichiban and some edamame.
(upload folder is full so it won't let me post a pic  :x

- Starfire light gun
- Code Veronica
- Blue VMU
- Green VMU
- Performance TremorPak

All in great condition.  The guy who sold me the VMUs had taken the batteries out before I bought them  so I had to get some more.

Nice one Bernie!  That brief nostalgic interlude just made my day  :)

I had the exact same experience 5 years ago with our bedroom tele.  My wife had surgery as well and needed bed rest so I ended up wall mounting it and angling it toward the bed.  It was a cheap Viewsonic that the kids now abuse.  Our newer Samsung doesn't have the same issue.

Hi mate,

I see there are some delivery issues and I don't mind waiting longer as things get straightened out.
If you could reply here or pm me when it ships or if it has been shipped, I'd appreciate it.  :)

Cheers

You wouldn't believe the length I have to go to to get in a little time on the Turbo Express.
"yeah gotta fix that bloody tonneau cover again honey, gonna be an hour or so.. grumble grumble ... "

I stopped by Staples yesterday armed with a Cards Against Humanity pdf.
$21.37 to get it printed on 100lb weight card using the color printer and they're going to cut it as well.
Anyone played this game?  I haven't.....yet!

I used to collect ECW/WWF/WCW wrestling figures from 1996 - 2001 and had every series complete, I had a wrestling addiction.  I had over 275 MISB but moved abroad and wasn't going to take them with me.  I tried to sell them but couldn't find anyone who would buy them.  My last resort was to give them away to the neighborhood kids who opened nearly all of them in front of me and proceeded to trash them.

I kept the Owen Hart Blue Blazer and Brian Pillman figs but that's all I have left.
#35
I'm agreement with that good price on Chew Man Fu.  It's a tough one to fine JIC at a decent price.
That's almost exactly what I paid for mine.  Got a Sparky label on it and it looks a lot younger than it actually is

Went to the Vancouver Gaming Expo on the weekend.

TG-16:   Ninja Spirit, Bravoman & Dragon's Curse for $50
PSP:      EA Collection, Burnout Legends & Ridge Racer for $20

All 6 are in fantastic shape and include case, sleeve (TG), manual and game.

Was a good show from what I saw but not as busy as the Retro Expo in March.
There were some deluded vendors selling over priced shite of course, some of which I recognized from March.

Just a block down the street I grabbed 2 lbs of Black pudding from Sherlock's.
I've eaten a quarter of it already.  Bloody amazing.  Cost as much as the PSP games and not sure which I'll enjoy more

Thanks esteban.  Love you too.
But really no resemblance?  Maybe I just want it to look like him.  meh.

Okay down to brass tacks then...  The raffle is closed and the winner is...  SuitedAJ
PM me your address and I'll get it out to you this week!

Thanks to all who entered.

Don't forget, The Legendary Axe is the next raffle.

Anyone else aside from me think that player in the screen cap looks a bit like don Mattingly in a football helmet?

Buy/Sell/Trade / Re: Pre-raffle poll
09/10/2012, 01:31 PM
Yeah but I gave the nod to TV Sports Football because the it's on the top of the stack here on my desk lol
#43
Maybe it's the French manual that everyone is after but it won my pre-raffle poll with 26.3% of the popular vote.
FYI up next will be The Legendary Axe...

So up for grabs is one TG-16 TV Sports Football complete in the case (no box) with french manual and original plastic sleeve.  The side label is quite nice and while the card has insertion marks on the bottom but the top label is almost mint.

This raffle is open to all PCEngineFX residents but of course I ask you abstain if you already have it.

Winner to be randomized on Sunday the 16th.

Entrants:
-KnightWarrior
-roflmao
-csgx1
-meka
-Firebomber7
-420GOAT
-SuitedAJ

Got a couple interesting items on the weekend.  Not gaming related but when I saw them I just couldn't pass them up.
The cover price on the 68-69 is 9 pence and the 79 cup final is 50p.  The guy I bought them from had quite a few from the 60s to the early 80s.

The title that I have the most time logged with since 2001 is the Halo series and mainly the first 2.  I just played through the Anniversary edition again on legendary.
It's probably my slight ocd that brings me back again and again and again so if Microsoft would like me to buy the next one then I better be able to play Halo on it.

Voting has closed top choice is TV Sports Football followed closely by The Legendary Axe.

Thanks to all who participated in the thread

Raffle up shortly.

Buy/Sell/Trade / Pre-raffle poll
09/06/2012, 10:32 AM
I acquired a few dupes so I want to give something back to a great community who has been generous to me in the past.

Please vote for the title I should raffle first - there will be future raffles for these and other games too.

Notable notes about the games:
All are complete (JIC) US titles except Street Fighter II which is a loose cart only PCE title.
TV Sports Football has a french manual only  #-o

If everyone hates this idea then this will be the only poll I do but will still run the raffle and randomize the game and winner drawn.

You have 4 days to vote and you can change your vote.

Shipping is on me.

Nice pick up DragonmasterDan!
So what's the deal with the EU TG-16 model when it comes to use in USA/Canada?
Do you need a 60Hz converter or upscaler?  I was tempted to buy one before leaving the UK 5 years ago since there was a brand new boxed with accessory pack for 50 quid with 10 common games but moving back to Canada, I didn't think it would work so I left it.
#49
Wow very solid deal. Nice pick up Turboswimbz  :)
