Quote from: Keranu on 03/14/2009, 07:02 PMI was just thinking, all of us PCEFX nerds should meet up at some place and time within the MGC area. Like maybe 3pm on Saturday at wherever the Turbo systems are in the museum area.Well, we're doing our live Podcast in the museum area starting at 3 on Saturday. I'll be at the VGEVO booth a lot, so I'm sure that I'll be sneaking over to the Turbo stuff every now and then
Quote from: guest on 03/14/2009, 01:01 AMvery nice... such a cool looking system.. looks like small engine to me$98 plus shipping, hence the reason that I couldn't pass it up. My buddy in Japan found it for me at some small shop.
do ya mind me asking how much you did pay? i think i paid to much for mine 2 years ago when i got
Quote from: Keranu on 01/30/2009, 04:08 PMJohn and I talk from time-to-time. I dealt with him a lot back in the day.Quote from: torgo on 01/30/2009, 10:47 AMDon't count on it at all, but I'm trying to convince John Brandstetter into attending MGC this year. He's pretty busy right now though, so like I said, don't count on itDude I would do anything to get John Brandstetter to come! How were you even able to contact him? I think I tried emailing him back in 2004/2005 but got no response.
And yeah, blaming Johnny Turbo for the Duo's destruction is stupid. I see the Johnny Turbo ads as a farewell joke more than anything else.
Quote from: guest on 01/30/2009, 10:59 AMIt was FAR from John or anyone else at TTi's fault, trust me.Quote from: torgo on 01/30/2009, 10:47 AMDon't count on it at all, but I'm trying to convince John Brandstetter into attending MGC this year. Quote from: Seldane on 03/14/2007, 03:02 PMWho buys a PS3 in order to play PS2 games?2 things. The people who own PS2 games most likely own PS2 systems already. Backwards compatibility sucks. I play all my PS1 games (like two of them) on a real PS1.
Quote from: guest on 02/23/2007, 05:09 PMI used to do some testing for TTi, and John B. and I were good friends. They were showing the unit off at a CES one year ("behind closed doors"). We messed around with it quite a bit at that show. I believe that it was at the Summer '92 or '93 show in Chicago, but it's been a long time. I'm pretty sure that it was the same show that we took one of the Hudson Japan guys to play Battletech down at the North Pier Mall (the equipment has been moved to Dave and Busters downtown now.)Quote from: torgo on 02/23/2007, 03:06 PMI had the prototype in my hands a couple of times. It only worked with the Duo. As far as I know, there were no "retail" versions created. That's pretty cool, but how did you get your hands on such a beast? I'm not doubting you - just curious. Did it look similar to the one shown in the magazine article, or were different prototypes made?
