If you did not lie then at the very least you intentionally misled, particularly when stating that the account on PCED was not yours after you had linked to it as yours. Is it any wonder people smelled a rat? And one thing about this forum - once people smell bullshit, there is nowhere to hide, and they are very good at smelling it. Perhaps if you were a little more forthcoming with the 'facts' a little earlier this would not have gone on for so long.

Well, I started a PC Engine collection a few months ago... I really like the NEC consoles and games.

I'm from Brazil, and for me, paying US$ 1.600,00 for a game is a complete utopia. I don't even earn this amount of money IN A YEAR. So, it would be very nice if Thibaut could share this Sapphire prototype with the community. Please, Thibaut. :-D

Such as i remember donating for the Space Fantasy Zone proto back in the time,and when one of your members (friend?) decided to sell it by itself on Yahoo, by greed. Then we decided with Omar to release it for free. Because greed is everywhere.

As for people selling it- 1) Who cares since the rom was already available? and 2) there was a thread about that here- I don't believe that any of us knew personally the guy who was making official-looking copies of it- and the guy did a good job with the package anyway- kudos for him.

We donated for the release. At the time, it wasn't released ANYWHERE. The money was collected,and we got the game, but nobody was supposed to share it. Then i remember a BT Garner's friend/person he knows (so was told on smspower board) was selling it for making bucks on Yahoo Japan. That was a huge shock, to see such "betrayal" was possible. I remember huge hate towards BTgarner back at the time,in french forums. Don't know if that was deserved at all.
The sales being seen on YJA, a majority of the donators decided (not me only,many of the forum who donated) that the best way to cut the crap out,is to release it for free. To everyone, not just the few of us.
At that PRECISE moment, it was released wildly.But that was NOT the original plan at all.
Ask Omar from SMSpower then, by yourself. He's probably a liar too,huh?
I named you some of the biggest websites on VG communities (Guardiana for MD,NESWorld for NES?SMS power for SMS),but clearly they're really lying to cover me. How convenient. I really have great friends ^^

That's the kind of story that make those kind of games so hard to obtain now from japanese collectors. Your ideal (sharing the stuff with everybody), they don't take it. that's not what they want.

For your 2), i know Tobias William Reich. Since he created his Garden of War. But the fact he produced those "looking good"copies has nothing to do with that story, he produced them YEARS after the donation/release. I was not talking about that seller, i'm talking about the "leak" between the donators.

buying an expensive, overpriced, OMGRAER CD-R and then not sharing a rip of it is idiotic. You essentially have a bootleg. In fact I think it'd be AWESOME if what you have is a bootleg of the original. You can't really tell since its a CD-R. Heres to hoping someone copied their original CD-R and sold it to you. In fact I bet they did because they knew someone like you would be like OMG and buy it. They are now laughing at you , and swimming in the money.

That is really what separates the actual PC-Engine community from the stragglers that just buy up what they can , hoard it, and don't share or interact with the community at large.. There is a place for people like that, and its called the Commodore community. Had a guy like this buy up EVERYTHING for obscene prices, crashed the market for Commodore items and then disappeared. Hoarding all sorts of stuff. Total joke. Lot of people like that in C= world.. .hoarding all kinds of stuff and even make posts saying things like "I have that! Dont need it, but you cant have it" to people looking for that particular item. I hope your penis feels extremely huge with your overpriced CD-R. It won't do much else for you I'm afraid.

This is the reason I think that the PC Engine/ Turbo Grafx community is alot less extravagant than all the NES etc. groups. The stuff is/was rare and you get a few people that just swoop down and fuck it all up by hoarding it and not sharing. Thank god Thibaut doesn't own the Hu7 development stuff. I hope they are sitting forgotten in a box somewhere at NEC or Hudson. At least they're resting peacefully instead of being imprisoned by some shmuck that wont even USE them. We decide to release it for free to everyone, in France at least using SMS Power platform,which is worldwidely known because my friend Omar is the guy who created the best SMS emulator ever (Meka).
We used his "renommee" to touch the most people we can with this free release. To break the profit logic.
So basically,maybe the guys who got you the game (then you got it,finally) was from a worldwide release that a bunch of guys, including me, decided. How ironic is that? LOL.

What I'm saying is that we donated (i donated $150,so did the others) for this game, along with George Palamara (if that name occurs to you?) getting in touch with a japanese collector.
and this collector,known in japanese pce collectors circle,asked to NOT SHARE IT. that was HIS wish. Someone broke this wish. Cutting us out of the way getting more ever from them.
Then i'm telling you now: go try get one now.
Because of 1 stupid move,everything has fallen apart.
The most clever way for anyone,including you, would have been to get everything,and then share everything at the same time once everything was obtained.
But NO, it didn't work that way.
And now,we're stuck/banned from this circle, until a japanese collector decides to sell 1 for profit (it happened 16 months ago,but i wasn't fast enough to BIN,so it'ss till again in japanese collector's hands...you know,the hoarders you hate so much)

About playing,you're 20 years late.
I played most of my game back in the 90s, i played thousands of hours on my PCE and I loved every minute of it.
But you playing 1 hour in 2009 doesn't make you more a gamer than me playing 10 hours in 1995. It's not a competition, there is no "update" needed.
Besides, i can't have time to play PCE only, when i'm dedicated to 24 other systems. I love playing MD or SFC as well. 1 hour playing SFC isn't worth "less" than playing 1 hour PCE,that's ridiculous. thinking that would be elitist to the ultimate level.

Besides, what is the point between insulting someone and "telling the truth"? Something that you don't have. Manners. We can disagree, but manners prevent people to look like a dick. You don't have some, then you look like a dick. I came here only because i was looking how rude you were treating Thibaut. How lame that "shower of rocks" looked like, on somebody who couldn't answer correctly in English. If you left the C= scene,that's probably because your attitude wasn't accepted there, and you got kicked out of the scene like a dirty hobo. That's probably what you deserved.
